Palin: Stupid Conspiracies
Facebook ^ | Dec 4, 2009 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 12/03/2009 10:23:24 PM PST by vwatto

Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. I’ve pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States.

I’m glad she is distancing herself from the birthers. It’s a terrible move for her to get involved in the birther issue."

She is... but she really isn't. There is nothing that Gov. Palin says to discount the arguments of patriotic Americans (the so-called "birthers") concerning 0bama's birth certificate and his unwillingness to let the public see it.

If anything, she adds another layer to 0bama's absurdity on the issue - she appeased the MSM by producing Trig's BC, even though it had absolutely nothing to do with her own eligibility to be VP. She did it as a good-will gesture toward those who did not deserve it. 0bama fails to show the same good will even toward those who do deserve it.

Gov. Palin is simply staying above the fray. She will keep on the issues, including this one if need be. Think two-front war - to say the BC isn't important because the "more pertinent" ones are is a false dichotomy. The BC is every bit as pertinent an issue, even if most of the public doesn't care.

Do you think if there was the smallest question about the BC of Sarah Palin the rules would be the same from the MSM as they have extended to the Kenyan?

I would think not.

It says a lot that most people don’t care if the President does not meet the Constitutional Requirement of the Office he holds.

Benjamin Franklin’s quote, “a Republic if you can keep it” is more timely than ever before.

People have to stop harping on the birth certificate and start harping on his college records. We know he has college records and there is only one “reasonable” reason not to show them. If he is so qualified then he should be proud to show his transcripts. I don’t want to hear Sarah is not qualified ever again, until I see his transcripts.

I hope she does keep talking about the issues that most Americans want to know about. Obama’s birth certificate isn’t one of them. Let’s try the economy, the deficit, jobs, national security, foreign policy, REAL healthcare reform, etc.

Probably because the definition of the Constitutional requirement for the Presidency is no longer taught in schools.

I was taught what a natural born American citizen was, and that no other type of citizen was eligible for the Presidency. That was a while ago. What are schools teaching now? Stuff from Gwen Ifill's book?

I agree with you finally. I hope she does also, but I don’t want her to disclose a detailed plan until she declares her candidacy. Why give her opponents extra time to nit pick her policy strategies.

Who the hell are you to claim that you speak for Americans? Am I not an American? I want to know about obumber's BC and his collage records.

You're still employing that false dichotomy. The BC issue is a national security issue. That is the reason why it is necessary to have a natural-born citizen as POTUS in the first place. Just because it isn't popular doesn't mean it isn't important.

Gov. Palin will keep talking about the other issues because it is more productive for her to do so. If the BC issue blows up on 0bama, then she won't have to do a thing, and it keeps her out of the fray. It's a wise move.

Here we go again: Everyone who doesn’t see it your way is stupid. Sarah realized that her comments could be misconstrued. Therefore, she clarfied her statements. Smart move by her to call the conspiracies stupid, however.

Beautiful triangulation. She is good.

I see now that we have two threads, so I will cut and paste my reply to you here that I made on the other thread.

"Like the teenager who grows into adulthood and discovers his old man is suddenly smart, maybe the news media are about to learn that our Sarah who was strangled by the McCain people wasn’t so Tina Fey dumb after all. Ya think?"

Check out any poll - the birth certificate issue is not near the top of the “to do” list. LOL

Most Americans do want to hear about those things. Perhaps most Americans want to hear about the birth certificate also, but Will what’s his name didn’t say that most Americans don’t. Will what’s his name implied it, that’s true, but lets be fair and give him the benefit of the doubt. It is the Christmas Season let’s not forget.

Show me a poll that is evidence that most Americans don't want to know that obumber is eligible to be POTUS. I just want to make it crystal clear that you do not speak for me, and I doubt you speak for most Americans.

And none of this changes the fact that Obama has still not produced his long form, his college record, etc. etc. etc.

Hypothetical question for you: In 2010, it is discovered that Obama’s birth certificate is fake and he was born in Kenya. What happens then? Do you think Congress will create a Constitutional Crisis to remove him from office?

I hope Sarah keeps doing exactly what she thinks she should, and takes no advice from anyone, especially me or anyone else on FR, on what she should do.
