“Google News!”
I have never been to Google News. Why would one even bother?
Never knew it existed.
I use Google only as a search engine.
Google is not a NEWS organization.
I get my news from FREE REPUBLIC :)

I did a search on bing! and got 50,200,000 hits. I started using them as my default a few days ago after seeing thread similar to this one. I like it so far.
You did it a slightly different way... but still got only 9 results in a story that has been around a month and that Yahoo can dig up thousands of hits for?
I was going to have the mods pull this thread, but decided to wait and see what develops...
9 hits is still pretty low and looks suspicious to me...
:)
Google simply decided that their style was to use “climate-gate” or “climate gate”.
Not saying it makes sense, but if you search for either of those two terms, you will get a lot of news stories.
I typed in climategate on google news and got 2,933 hits. Google search - over 20 million hits
It’s actually a pretty good news source for things like football team info (I have it setup to do a search for Purdue for example and it gives me info that I don’t normally get here on FR... ;-) )
Actually, Google News is one of the top 5 online US news sites.
:)
You’re going to be responsible for a link on fark.com ridiculing us for not being able to do a simple search on the internet.

So please stop. You’re making us all look bad.
That’s why I asked. Thanks. That IS a much different story.
GOOGLE searches:
Results 1 10 of about 91 for Climate gate scandal.
Results 1 10 of about 892 for Climategate scandal.
Results 1 10 of about 3,399 for Climategate.
Results 1 10 of about 1,695 for Climate Scandal.
Results 1 10 of about 143 for climate gate emails.
Results 1 10 of about 560 for climate change hoax.
Results 1 10 of about 631 for climate hoax.
As opposed to YAHOO search:
44,500,000 results for
climate gate:
(Nuff said!)
Plus, it appears that searching the google news site they way you did only pops up the SITE, and then you have to click on it to get to the items on the site.
Moderator: Please pull this thread. This is not entirely accurate.
My regional settings seem to be skewing my results.
I've requested the thread be pulled, but nonetheless, the MSM is still ignoring anything to do with Climategate. You will not see this story anywhere.
It depends upon what news services are actually hosted on the Google servers, as opposed to what news services are hosted by the Yahoo servers and by the AOL servers.
If you want to see all of the items on Yahoo's news servers, look here. (when you put your mouse over one of the links, you will see "news.yahoo.com/..." -- that tells you that the data is on their servers.
On the other hand, Google just hosts the major wire services on their sites and refers people back to the original source for most of their hits.
That probably is the best explanation for the disparity.
Thanks for your effort. Thanks to all posters.
Ask anyone about Tiger Woods and everyone is up to date with the latest, and they will be happy to tell you their own opinion of what they think went on, and what they think should be done about Tiger. But ask those same people about Clamategate, and they would look at you with a stupid unknowing look on their face and say Climatewhat?
Even my own 8 year old was talking about Tiger when I picked him up at school yesterday. He said he seen him on the news today (at school, during school).
But if you type “climate scandal” into the Google news search, you get a boatload of articles. Maybe not everyone is using the term “climategate.”

While I don't doubt that Google has engaged in some alogrithm fudging, you should use the correct info to make your point.
I just put cimategate (sic) and got 10 pages,
Huh? I don't see any problem. That's what I got at google by typing in "climategate."
Same here.
The first result in News is "UN Climate Change Body to Investigate 'Climategate' Emails," and under that is a link to a devastating editorial from the WSJ, entitled "Climagegate: Science is Dying."
The second result is "Climategate goes uber-viral, Gore flees..." by James Delingpole at the Telegraph, UK. Hardly complimentary to the warmists.
I wouldn’t pull the thread. It has useful information, and is a cautionary tale.
