The only group that speaks for the United Methodist Church is the General Conference, which meets every four years. It has not supported this action.
The article doesn’t say, but my guess is that it’s the General Board on Church & Society (a church agency which has been infected with liberal ‘Christianity’ for some time) that signed this.
Perhaps Xzins, who is an elder in the UMC over in Ohio, will have something additional to add.
I should have addressed my remarks to “All” and not to you specifically.
Of course, you know that.
IMO, the denominations which signed on to this travesty are committing heresy and should no longer be considered Christian churches.
Nope, many are secularist clubs which meet on Sunday mornings and discuss ways to justify their sins.
I am aware of that and hopefully my dear FRiend xzins can add some insight.
What goes around, comes around. In the case of abortion, the death panels and every statement in the socialized medicine bill that targets “old people” ( for breast exams, etc that starts at 50.)
The Disciples are probably long overdue a real purge!
I googled for the Disciples Justice Action Center, and there is pretty much nothing on this alleged group, beyond its support of the House version of the “health care” legislation. Has anyone ever heard of this group? You’d have to suspect it is maybe one of those “two people and a fax machine” organizations.
Thanks for clearing that up. I have many relatives who are members of that church, and I’ve always considered them very conservative. My aunt who was a member of the Church of Christ had a therapeutic abortion back in the 1930s, when she was nearly forty years old. It haunted her for the rest of her life, in spite of the valid health reasons advocated by her doctor.
Sorry. I should have waited before writing. Nevertheless, there is very little about the group through Google.
So, who’s looking for a new church this Sunday?
Well, I haven’t regularly attended a Disciples church for many years, but it does seem that many politically and theologically elements have taken over there.
These technological methods induce abortions that cannot even be counted.
Apostates all!
..not wanting to EVER be confused with the USA Presbyterian.
“Nope, many are secularist clubs which meet on Sunday mornings and discuss ways to justify their sins. “
The truth.
The Divide grows even deeper in America. Now it’s between the so-called Christian churches. How’s that Hope and Change and bringing America together working out for those Obamiacks.

The link has a different headline:

Thank you.
PCA here, also. I don’t see how any believer can stay in a PCUSA church and provide financial support without becoming complicit in the apostacy. Of course, I said that several years ago. Now this...
Indeed. It is also a warm and loving church. Our congregation here in my small town is not very large, but it is enthusiastic and joyful.
Many of Scottish ancestry have been Presbyterians for several hundred years. Its a shame when Liberals destroy another Protestant Church.
