Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told'
telegraph.co.uk ^ | 28 Mar 2009 | Christopher Booker

One of his most shocking discoveries was why the IPCC has been able to show sea levels rising by 2.3mm a year. Until 2003, even its own satellite-based evidence showed no upward trend. But suddenly the graph tilted upwards because the IPCC's favoured experts had drawn on the finding of a single tide-gauge in Hong Kong harbour showing a 2.3mm rise. The entire global sea-level projection was then adjusted upwards by a "corrective factor" of 2.3mm, because, as the IPCC scientists admitted, they "needed to show a trend".

When running the International Commission on Sea Level Change, he launched a special project on the Maldives, whose leaders have for 20 years been calling for vast sums of international aid to stave off disaster. Six times he and his expert team visited the islands, to confirm that the sea has not risen for half a century. Before announcing his findings, he offered to show the inhabitants a film explaining why they had nothing to worry about. The government refused to let it be shown.

These are the clowns who held a cabinet meeting underwater as a publicity stunt.

A experimenting scientist then to find more positive findings when challenged.

Why does the The International Commission on Sea Level Change exist anyway? It sound to me like they were commissioned to find sea level change. Suppose the team made the trips to the Maldives and found absolutely nothing? Would somebody loose tenure?

This is ridiculous! Basic science - all other things being equal, water levels will also be equal, and will seek its own level. If the sea level has risen at Hong Kong, it has to be risen at Shanghai, Tokyo and San Diego. If it has risen at a local site, the site must have sunk.

The way I figure it. They’ll eventually get some massive wealth transfer scheme going and we’ll get fleeced along with every other productive nation on the planet (except for China and India). We’ll be handing over incredible amounts of money to third world dictatorships and banana republics who don’t add anything significant to the human condition. We’ll be doing this for years and years.

And finally one day, maybe 50-75 years from now, some scientist will try to raise a stink by publishing a paper that says ‘But the sea levels haven’t risen and show no significant rising trend’.

And our UN masters will simply say ‘In other words, our policies are working, we must continue with the good work’- and that will be that.

If these statements are true and provable, these fraudsters should be now planning their criminal defenses rather than attending a high carbon footprint gathering in Copenhagen.

Are there enough honest people around to force a real investigation into this global warming scam?

2 mm a year rise is not very much. That’s a foot every 300 years. They even lied about that much!

Leftist lies are run wide and deep. If this is the greatest one, it isn’t without plenty of competition. Somewhere there is a secret, underground libtard center, filled with computers programmed to come up with lies that go directly to the DNC and state media outlets.

I saw that same lie being spewed on abc news concerning an Indian village being abandoned in lower Louisiana due to global warming and “rising” oceans. The fact is that the land is sinking, which all river delta land does over time because the soil becomes compacted. This has been happening for eons in the Mississippi Delta.

I've posted this experiment, many times before. No matter, I'll do it again...

Fill a glass of water to the top, pop an ice cube in, wipe all the excess that overflows. Then sit back and watch the ice cube melt.

See any water overflow the top? No? I didn't think so.

Sheesh.

Or maybe a measurement error.

Right. The only way the water level can rise is for ice on land to melt and run into the sea. That would be mostly Greenland and Antarctica. The ice at the north pole is floating in water, and so if it melts, the water level will not rise.

And most accounts I have read say that Antarctica is gaining in ice overall, even though in places, ice shelves are breaking off.
