The era of 'blame Bush' for Obama is over
CNN ^ | 12/07/09 | Roland Martin

With President Barack Obama's decision to escalate the war in Afghanistan by sending 30,000 additional troops to battle Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, he has put his imprint on the war on terror, and at the same time, given up the Democrats' most famous fallback position: blame George W. Bush.

Couple that with the economy and we are seeing the end of the president's first year in office coincide with him having to accept the full responsibility for the condition of the country.

Obama rode into office on the "blame Bush" tidal wave as the nation sickened of everything he touched. The economy? Bush was horrible at stewarding it. Giving banks billions in TARP funds? Dumb idea by Bush and Treasury Secretary Hank "Mr. Wall Street" Paulson. Sick of billions going to the war? It was all the fault of Bush and his chief crony, Vice President Dick Cheney.

The blame Bush mantra proved effective because it totally silenced Republicans, who were loathe to defend a conservative president who began with a surplus and ended with a deficit, as well as the architect of a war in Iraq based on never-proven claims of weapons of mass destruction. They couldn't even muster the strength to call him a conservative.

...loathe to defend a conservative president...

OK, let's get this straight. George Bush was not a conservative. He did some conservative things, but he was not a conservative.

And no one needs to defend President Bush. He was a far better President than would have been Al Gore or John Kerry. Far, far better.

Still, we'd have been, and would be, better off if we really had a conservative President. Say, President Palin.

Let’s also get it straight that the CNN guy is WRONG and the Dems will keep blaming Bush for YEARS.

It’s what they do. It resonates with their core consituency, typified by the guy who tried to throw tomatos at Sarah Palin and hit a cop instead.

Look at that guy. He blames Bush so why shouldn’t Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the rest of them keep blaming Bush?

The Won needs to be pinned down to give us a date when he will assume responsibility for the economy and the war.

People can say what they want about Bush. They generally do anyway. But we always must remember, if it were not Bush it would have been Gore. It makes me nauseous to think about that possibility. Whether the man was a good president or not, whether he was a true conservative or not... Having him was absolutely better than having Gore.

Dear God, we’re in a mess now with Obama. Just think how bad it would be if we were just coming off Gore’s presidency. I shudder to think.

Bush was who we had, what conservative stepped up at the time? Pat Buchanan?? I’m proud Bush was our CIC after 911, he was extremely pro military. Our military LOVED him. If not for the press, he’d be a way more popular president. Sure his social stuff was sub par, but his CIC duties were second to none. And in hindsight, if we’d known what the next administration was about, perhaps we could have countered it. Our failure was trusting Americans would place American interests first and not government’s. This will be corrected by either a revolution, or a civil war. Our country is too divided to continue on this present course. This is going to be an interesting next couple years, after 2010.

55555555555555555!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >> On Next President Palin.

But iffy on Bush. Bush (2nd Term) was a lameduck president. But he’s just a punching bag. He’s not the main culprit.

If the Dying Media just try to open its eyes:

1. Economy? Blame Barney Frank and the political correctness in housing market. TARP? Blame Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Krugmann (Ivy League idiotic elites) and their Dem friends who wanted it most - just ask the idiots in the Feds.

2. War? Bush was right. We would never survive Bin Laden+Adminadjab+Muslim Europe+Iran and Libya loving Russia+........+ the demonic Saddam Hussein in the 21st Century. US$700 Billion in 6 years is just a chicken compared to the Trillions of Obama’s first term and possibly Quadrillion, considering the impacts in the decades to come.

SO OBAMA SHOULD HAVE BLAMED HIMSELF AND HIS DEMOCRAT FRIENDS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

It’s like CNN asking Obama and his Dem minions to solve the problems they have created based on their own policies in the last 3 years. Now, they are cooking an “economic massacre”.

Bush, the gentleman, lame duck, deferred his presidency to Obama after the election.
