I've NEVER heard of a Black ice warning in this area ever.
Ten miles east if Helena, Mt., at 0700 today it was minus 30 degrees, at 1000 we have warmed up to minus 22 degrees. (Not wind chill)
This might answer why.

Today, for the 234th consecutive day there were more lighning strikes than ever before in Texas. The world will be destroyed by lightning unless you rollerskate to work for the rest of your life.
