(Liberal Quinnipiac) Poll: Only 38 percent support health care bill (All time low Alert)
Politico ^ | December 9, 2009 | Glenn Thrush

Posted on 12/09/2009 8:21:26 AM PST by Zakeet

The second leg of Quinnipiac's big national poll dropped this morning -- and it shows a serious erosion of support for Congressional health reform efforts and the president's performance on the issue -- along with an all-time low 46 percent approval rating for the POTUS.

Most ominously for Dems: Nearly two-thirds of registered voters polled said extending coverage to 30 million-plus people will result in a decline in the quality of their own health care. That gives plenty of room to the GOP to personalize attacks on the plan, Obama and Congress.

The lowlights for Dems:

--O approval/disapproval: 46/44 percent.

--Voters disapprove 52 – 38 percent of the health care reform proposal under consideration in Congress, and they disapprove 56 – 38 percent of President Obama’s handling of health care, down from 53 – 41 percent in a November 19 survey.

--American voters say 63 – 30 percent that extending health insurance to all will raise their cost of health care, although they are split 47 – 46 percent on whether they are willing to pay more to make sure everyone is covered.

--Voters split 48 – 46 percent on whether they think covering everyone will decrease the quality of their own care, but by 71 – 21 percent they do not think universal coverage is worth lower quality of care.

“It’s a good thing for those pushing the health care overhaul in Congress that the American people don’t get a vote. At this time, supporters are down 14 percentage points,” said Peter Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

IF passed these laws will never be removed.

Why is it the general thought that the law can't be reversed? Can't it be done by executive order by the next Republican President?

The marxist/moron leaders of the left in DC don’t care what the people want and never have. They want to ram this down our throats. For once, maybe, and just maybe, the political survival instincts of the mass of democrat congressmen and senators in vulnerable seats will work in our favor. They may decide that their personal survival trumps 0bama, Pelousy and GReid. Maybe they break ranks. Maybe.

The Congress critters that vote for this POS bill might as well pack their bags. They are going home.

“The Republicans seem to be putting up a weak defense—”

Weak? What do you expect, there are only 40 of them, the Rats have the votes if Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Blanche Lincoln, Evan Bayh and Mary Landrieu support the “compromise.” The good news is that Lieberman said today that he will not support a trigger, which is included in the “compromise.” Nelson is also on record as not supporting a trigger.

I agree this is happening everywhere. The dems should be petrified of going home because they may not realize what danger they are in yet but everyone is angry and not everyone is balanced.

It turned out that the victim of this extortion was Michelle Fischbach, a state senator from Minnesota, who later presented a written complaint to the local authorities regarding the episode. Five abducted at market

A drug dealer suspected of stealing from his own gang was murdered in a market area in Cancun Thursday morning and 12 hours later, four people were abducted from the same area along with a hapless taxi driver who just happened to be there. The four apparent targets of the abductions were local venders who are believed to have been accomplices in the murdered man’s treason. A heavily armed group seized the five people without firing a shot and left in three vehicles.

IF passed these laws will never be removed.

Yes they can, and failing that, future Congresses can deny appropriations.

maybe they really do think that the numbers are so low because they haven’t passed it yet. They do live in an echo chamber.

We’re trying for one last hurrah.

The libtards are telling their folks that the public ire has died down re the deathcare bill and it’s safe to vote for it. Show ‘em that’s not the case. There’s one final rally being held in DC on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 1:30 p.m. — the Code Red rally. Please plan to go if at all possible. They’re trying to make this the biggest one yet — since the passage of this “healthcare” bill will fundamentally change our country forever.

I was recently standing in a long holiday line at the post office. A senior gentleman behind me suddenly stated loudly, “Get used to it folks. This is what your healthcare is going to be like soon.” The line erupted into discussions, most of which were led by angry and frustrated senior citizens. They are mad as can be.

Brilliant. Every time we’re in a line, we should do this.

Something is horribly wrong with this statement.

It’s true but our representatives are supposed to be representing the American people not themselves.

And we DO get a vote...you’d better believe that! Is it 11/2010 yet?

The numbers are really dismal at 38%. Not even half of the country wants this. They have to back off at some point. Why would all of these long-standing Congresspeople put it on the line for this unknown new comer commie? What are they afraid of? What is really going on behind the scenes? It’s very troubling.

If this thing passes (I’m betting it will), we need to coordinate for resistance. Every time the gov. mandates that we do this or that, we should collectively refuse up to the point where we are forced to comply. Make them go after us as individuals so it will cost them. I will refuse to the point of going to jail. The line I can’t cross is if they start to take our home. You can bet I won’t make it easy for them. I’m going to die anyway, so I don’t need their lousy deathcare.
