I have a website using Frontpage. It has been good to me. Easy to use, but Frontpage is showing its age. Tried Dreamweaver but had to send it back because it would not run with my Vista 64 bit machine. Adobe was very nice about it.
I would love to find a more flexible solution that I could just upgrade my site into. Microsoft has a new website software called Expression and a newer version called Expression 3. I am not looking for slam-bang software, my site is mostly text and links. I am looking to be able to place advertising and have some structural flexibility and better search capabilities. Has anyone here worked with Expression and done an upgrade from Frontpage. Or is it the nature of web design software to be redesigned with each product change?
Where are you hosted? Does your host offer Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, or other content management systems (CMS)? If so, use one of those - it eliminates the need for Frontpage or other similar software packages. The CMS becomes the website, and it’s simple to create new entries/articles, manage media, lists of links, etc.

I've used Expression Web 2 a little bit and find it works ok. The UI looks like dreamweaver IMO

Those morons think nothing of changing around an entire user interface and hiding or moving everything you've used for years
The RIBBON bar at the top of MS Office Word SUCKS and takes 1/3 of my laptop screen to show me functions i NEVER USE.
Instead of coming out with FrontPage 2008 or ForntPage 2010 they changed it all around and I don't even know what the latest name is
Same with NetMeeting - it was once the single most useful piece of software I ever used from Microsoft- but it's gone in Vista and replaced by something hideous - probably a pay service
Google is in prime position if they create a new operating system that duns current windows software and stops the endless Microsft BLOATWARE
Win2K pro was the best operating system, XP Pro was not bad too. I took a Vista machine I bought and reformatted it to run XPPro and it was AT LEAST 10 times as fast.
Any one know what land mines they have in Win7 yet?

Agree on FrontPage. This was easy to use and did a great job. Guess Microsoft couldn’t improve it to keep getting upgrade sales so they had to do a reset with something else to start the upgrade cycle anew.
NVu does not look like the website developemtn tool for technical idiots like me.

Also a Front Page user here - my web site has about 300 MB of text and images, all in FP.
I intend to stay with the last FP release as long as I can.

Hi. I use Dreamweaver CS4 and it works fine with Vista 64 bit, as does the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite. Perhaps you tried an older version?
What particular kind of flexibility are you looking for?
