Former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) was in D.C. Thursday meeting with supporters of a possible primary challenge to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
Hayworth, who lost his 5th district seat to Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-Ariz.) in 2006, told CQ-Roll Call he was "taking a very, very serious look" at the race but had made no decision. "We're just doing our due diligence," he said.
Hayworth was spotted with House Minority Leader John Boehner Thursday but said it was not a scheduled meeting. "I just bumped into John," he explained.
He declined to say with whom he formal meetings during his swing through in D.C., though he did say those he had spoken to had been "very encouraging." He also came to attend a holiday party hosted by conservative advocacy group Citizens United on Thursday night.

Hayworth! Hayworth! Hayworth! Hayworth!
I spent many an night listening to C-Span, hearing Hayworth and his friend, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA). Any friend of Rohrabacher is a friend of mine; the man is a genious. Hayworth was more philosophical while Rohrabacher was the nuts-and-bolts guy. They made a great team. A senator Hayworth would know who to talk to, who will give him the deep scoop on things.
McCain on the other hand? Dangerous to the security of our cities with his casual attitude about borders.
If Hayworth runs your quotes on TV, even Palinmania won’t stop him.
As far as I am concerned, if Palin wants to cast her lot with the Rat bastard McCain, that's her problem.
I'll be on the lookout for another Calvin Coolidge and like-minded conservatives to support in the 2010 and 2012 elections.
What is your opinin of DeMint(thus far)?
Also, Darrell Issa
OK that explains why Terri Gilberg was subbing on JDs radio show last night.
McStain is a well-rounded and seasoned IDIOT!
If he decides against taking on McCain, would love to see him run against Harry Mitchell. If we don’t take those districts back, Pelousy will be re-elected as Speaker.

I hope Hayworth runs. At least the threat of a challenger is keeping McNuts tacking to the right—at least momentarily.
May I jump in?
I'm currently reading DeMint's book, "Why We Whisper." (Yeah, I know, the book was published last year. I say, why rush into things?)
I am very favorably impressed with DeMint. Unlike some other pols (who shall not be named) the more I see of DeMint, the more I like him.
Run J.D. Run
DeMint is a good man and a good leader.
I don’t know enough about Issa, though.
You are welcome to educate me.
Issa has been in politics for a long time in California. He is well known as a real conservative. He is the one who did that recent report on ACORN outline the entire criminal enterprise, and all of its affiliates. He is a self made multi millionaire, so you can’t buy him.
I read some of her stuff. Some may be true. I don’t give a rats a$$ what he did at 18. I will spend some real time investigating him. If he’s bad, to hell with him.
McCain unintentionally spoke the truth in the Senate yesterday. While trying to dress down Franken he said “I don’t know what’s going on in this body.” That’s pretty much the bottom line for him. He’s clueless.
Good for him....wouldn’tit be nice to see a Senate WITHOUT the presence of Juan McCain?
I'm not anti-Issa. I'm on the fence.
