(A Remorseful Obama Voter): Dreading our future
www.nypost.com ^ | December 20, 2009 | MICHAEL GOODWIN

Posted on 12/20/2009 7:48:02 AM PST by Publius804

I am a baby boomer, which is to say my life has coincided with turbulent and awesome times. From the Cold War to Vietnam, from Watergate to Monicagate, through the horrors of 9/11 and the stunning lifestyle advances, my generation's era has been historic and exciting.

Yet for all the drama and change, the years only occasionally instilled in me the sensation I feel almost constantly now. I am afraid for my country.

I am afraid -- actually, certain -- we are losing the heart and soul that made America unique in human history. Yes, we have enemies, but the greatest danger comes from within.

Watching the freak show in Copenhagen last week, I was alternately furious and filled with dread. The world has gone absolutely bonkers and lunatics are in charge.

Mugabe and Chavez are treated with respect and the United Nations is serious about wanting to regulate our industry and transfer our wealth to kleptocrats and genocidal maniacs.

Even more frightening, our own leaders joined the circus. Marching to the beat of international drummers, they uncoupled themselves from the will of the people they were elected to serve.

President Obama, for whom I voted because I believed he was the best choice available, is a profound disappointment. I now regard his campaign as a sly bait-and-switch operation, promising one thing and delivering another. Shame on me.

Some of us knew Obama would be a disaster WAY before he became president!!! How some people are just seeing his empty suit now is sickening. The damage he is going to do to the economy and the courts are going to take YEARS to reverse if they can be reversed at all.

If it were only Obama it could be stopped, the entire Democrat party is the disaster on the country.

Yes shame on you and the millions like you who voted for this fraud. BO has turned out worse than I ever dreamed possible. I fear our future but have the constant understanding that I’m not alone with my fears.

Screw this bonehead! Voting and elections have consequences and require more than watching “Oprah” and reading the “NY Slimes” as your info source. Little peckerhead should’ve voted like an adult instead of like “American Idol”. It’s great to hear libs backpedal. It’s sad that these idiots couldn’t be bothered with common sense when voting. Just idolization. A$$HOLES!!!

It’s idiots like this guy that helped destroy this nation as they were happily lead to the slaughter by the main stream media.

Equally surprising, he has become an insufferable bore. The grace notes and charm have vanished, with peevishness and petty spite his default emotions. His rhetorical gifts now serve his loathsome habit of fear-mongering.

Obama was an insufferable bore one minute into the first speech I ever heard from him at the DNC in 2004. If still baffles me how any half intelligent person could have fallen for this ridiculous poser. All the negatives this writer points out were glaringly apparent during Obama's first national exposure.

All too many viewed this poser through a lens of white guilt. Long, long past time to get over that.

I agree. What Obama is was apparent from the first. Just like with Jimmuh Carter. But there were (and are) always those who either can't think, choose not to, or think with something other than their brains. Then they are always sorry, but it's too late.

Here's a clue. We can't, and won't, “come together”. The differences among us are too great. Just like the Israel/Arab conflict, one side must win, one side must lose.

So any politician that promises to unite us, or bring us together, or offers unspecified hope and change is lying to us, be he Republican or Democrat

Yes it’s maddening that people are just now deciding to pay attention to what they could have known all along, now that Hussein is in position to do irreparable harm to this country. He is so full of hubris that he is going full steam ahead with his agenda in spite of what anyone, especially a majority of Americans, says. And we needn’t kid ourselves, the socialist programs enacted under him will be the same as those enacted under FDR, LBJ, Wilson, etc. Once entrenched and filled with illegals and other gimmee voters, they will never be repealed. Working Americans won’t be able to call their souls their own before the left is finished, and that’s the way they like it—everyone dependent upon the almighty government for their existence. I won’t be a bit surprised to see this government, before it’s over, producing “5 year plans” and the like, and channeling people into the jobs they designate, as the tax base shrinks and the funding isn’t there for all the government give-aways. Some will choose to opt out of the system, as is my plan, but what with things like mandated insurance, the government isn’t going to leave us in peace, asking nothing and giving nothing. They’re not having it. Too many people go that route, they don’t have the bottom of the pyramid they need to support their socialist structure. What then?

Yep- as I mentioned here:

“I rarely editorialize, preferring to give you links to pursue, quotes from the sources that reflect “what I think you need to know,” and the occasional quip of my own— but let me drop out of Lurkin’ & Linkin’ mode for a little moment in time...

This guy’s Bad News— “travelin’ like wildfire,” as the song went.

Whether he’ll flame out in the crush of day to day governing details, or be another Mussolini dragging his country into a burning Apocalypse is anyone’s guess at this point in time, but you had better start paying attention, if you hadn’t already.

We had the information here— Soros and all the other villains and clowns- pretty much before anyone else noticed them lurking in the wings.

But much remains hidden- it’s up to us and others to ferret it out and expose it.

Remember one thing- you’re watching a Carny Show, and the Rubes numbed by the clamor of Pop Culture, and dumbed by Public Miseducation, don’t get it— yet.

It’s up to us, to see that they do,

Carry on... “

The writer of this sob-fest should probably take several handfuls of pills today since he is so miserable. Merry Christmas, you punk (and thanks for your “informed” vote in the last election). It must be devastating to know you are such a TOTAL loser without the ability to think clearly. Oh, yerah...go out and take the nobama/biden sticker off your cheap car. I have no sympathy for people like you...only antipathy.
