"Ethical autotrophs" is the last sign of decadence, IMHO.

My nephew is dating a vegan. She is doing this thinking she will stay slim. Unfortunately, her ethics doesn’t extend to chocolate chip cookies.

I agree with you about the ‘ethical autotrophs’. They take silliness to celestial levels!

My dietary decisions are arbitrary and inconsistent

At least this one admits she's a deluded kook. That sets her apart from most.

Sheep and silk worms don’t have to die to provide their raw material; what’s so moral about not using wool or silk? Absurd!

Read the article. It is most fascinating how plants attract dragonflys; etc., to deal with meddlesome insects feasting on them.

Plowing an acre of land for a vegetable garden kills and destroys the habitat of millions and millions of insects and worms and other small animals.

Allowing a steer to graze on it and then killing the steer for slaughter results in far fewer animal deaths.

The only answer for these types really appears to be suicide. They’d stop consuming even plants, which apparently this person regrets. They’d begin *feeding* other lifeforms as well. Actually there’s endless parasites and symbiotes eating on all humans all the time, so she’s on the plate as well currently and down the road.

Plants are the ethical autotrophs here, the ones that wrest their meals from the sun.

Tell that to the Venus Fly Trap. Damn murderers!

how can you eat a plant? It’s so cruel. Plants can’t even move away from you when you try to eat it.

It is bizarre that vegans avoid wool. Nobody kills sheep to get wool fibers to wear.

Instead they urge the use of petroleum based fibers or plant materials that must either be raised with a lot of pesticides or undergo considerable chemical processing to become useful as fiber.

Liberal vegans are clods. I always tell them they’re insensitive and dense because they can’t hear a carrot cry when pulled from the ground. And eating an alfalfa sprout sandwich is like listening to a plant version of the Gettysburg battle. They scream all the way down through your gullet.

You don’t have to worry about me. I would never eat a Brussels sprout even at gunpoint.

Back 60 years ago when my father was teaching me to slaughter and butcher the hogs , he showed me many thing and told me of how the hog was made to be butchered.

The Achilles tendon is there to hang the hog, when you gut the animal if you do it right the whole mass falls into the tub, the intestines are cleaned to hold the sausage links, the hair is used for soap, Nothing is wasted on the hog but the last squeal/

As I sit here this morning enjoying me sausage and eggs I feel sorry for these Vegans who put aside the tasty hams, sausage, the bacon, and go out an buy a processed soy burger.

Well I dont feel so sorry for them that I dont laugh at them.

All life feeds on other life.

Even plants need nutrients that come from the decay of other things.

Mother nature is ruthless.
