Many of the questions I didn’t know the answers to.

Wasn’t looking for blow up the place answers. I was looking to see if civil disobedience like dragging our feet on the census or all waiting until April 15th to mail our tax forms would even be noticed or just ignored like our letters and calls.

OH, BTW, the senate passed their final cloture vote. Looks like final passage is coming soon.

Since it’s part of the constitution what are we required by it to answer and therefore can ignore questions about running water and heating units in our houses?

Well, I’m out. I’m going to hug my son and do some Christmasy stuff. It’s good to know there are others out there as disgusted with the direction our nation is headed. A little prayer and election next november will do a lot of good.

Don’t disobey laws. Don’t encourage or suggest it.

Demand the underlying, primary laws be enforced. Example: Demand your own state assert its rights under the Constitution as written and intended. Encourage the process of rolling back Federal encroachment.

General strikes. Boycotting shopping or consumer goods other than necessities. BTW, you don’t pay sales tax that way either by not buying you don’t support the state.

Demonstrations work, but only if they are overwhelming and even then the fools in DC ignore it.

And don’t rely on one thing or another. It’s important to have multiple things in the works at the same time overlapping. The tea party was great, but should have been accompanied by other methods of demonstrations.

IOW, as soon as one fire goes out the others need to be contained but can’t because more keep popping up.

Refusing to buy health insurance breaks the law (if it passes).

Refusing to be counted in census breaks the Constitution.

There’s a difference.

That said you may refuse to answer anything in the Census besides how many people live at your address, and btw the penalty for refusing is actually less than the penalty for fraudulent answers.

Can’t see that filing at the last minute is much of an act of civil disobedience. Your reply doesn’t quite fit your original post to start the thread. Sounded more like you wanted to know WHAT people here were willing to do to be disobedient, as in violence. Not a good start for a beginning post.

They have to count all the people in the country. They don’t need to know if you have running water.

“I will go willingly and once I am released I will go again.”

Why do you assume you will be released? Reds don’t release, never have, never will. You won’t be allowed visitors, exercise time, or material to write a letter. If you go on a hunger strike they will let you starve, and nobody will ever know what you acts you did and injustices you suffered for liberty and principles. That’s what they do.

I refuse to buy it!

Is it ok to use (Expletive Deleted) in front of that statement so they know how you really feel.

Perhaps a good start would be a proclamation by someone highly esteemed (such as a Billy Graham type) who would call believers to a day of prayer and fasting. (He’s just an example. I really don’t know of any other evangelical leaders who fit the bill. Whatever name I mention, someone will surely argue with it.) The point is that, like Esther’s and Mordecai’s inspired plan, maybe a massive concurrent plea by millions would somehow effect divine intervention.
