Obama eligibility - naive law student gets an 'F' as attorney rips her a new one

Attorney Philip J. Berg defends Obama birth certificate lawsuits

Editor's note: Philip J. Berg, former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania and an activist attorney who brought a lawsuit challenging the eligibility of Barack Obama to become president of the United States, has written the following reply to Jamie Freeze's Dec. 22 RenewAmerica article "Facts are stubborn things: Obama is a natural-born citizen."

Jamie Freeze, a law student, has called any of us who question Soetoro/Obama's citizenship status and constitutional eligibility to serve as U.S. President --- a constitutional right of ours, of course --- incompetent idiots. Ms. Freeze, however, may want to continue her education. Part of being a lawyer, a very important part, is being able to comprehend what you read and to cite the correct law to collaborate it, something Ms. Freeze has clearly failed to do.

I will respond below to Ms. Freeze's allegations. My responses are in bold. I also want to make very clear to all readers that none of the eligibility cases have been heard, litigated, or dismissed based on the law pertaining to any of the issues raised. Instead, the eligibility cases have been dismissed on the basis of "STANDING" only.

Why would Obama spend over 1.5 million dollars litigating these cases instead of just proving his citizenship status?

There is something very embarrassing in his records. His school records as well! 0 is the potus MOST ashamed of his entire past until Michelle and Chicago, even then he is forced to distance from his church of 17 years.

Very nice response from Mr. Berg. I support his efforts. One thing I will say: I have not seen hard evidence proving that Obama has spend over a million dollars blocking the release of this long-form birth certificate (I see the claim frequently). I would love to see a solid citation on that, but so far I haven’t found it.

Hard evidence on defense costs. Same thought here too.

I don't use that argument either because it's not proved.

If I remember correctly, that dollar amount was calculated by using what the named lawyers charged per hour and it was a “guesstimate”.

The question is where do birthers get the figure of $1.5M? Is someone keeping a tally?

Obama law tab up to $1.4 million

‘Grass-roots army’ contributions being used to crush eligibility lawsuits?

President Obama may be using his political action committee funds to stomp out eligibility lawsuits brought by Americans, as he has paid more than $1.35 million to his top lawyer since the election.

Obama for America, Obama’s 2008 political campaign, merged with the Democratic National Committee in January and is now known as Organizing for America. The grass-roots army that some refer to as “Obama 2.0” is still collecting financial contributions.

Federal Election Commission records for “Obama for America” show that the lobby organization has paid international law firm Perkins Coie exactly $1,352,378.95 since the 2008 election.

FEC records show the following payments made to the law firm from Oct. 16, 2008, to June 30, 2009:

FEC record for payment to Perkins Coie, 2009 July quarterly report (covers April 1, 2009, to June 30, 2009)

FEC record for payment to Perkins Coie, 2009 July quarterly report (covers April 1, 2009, to June 30, 2009)

FEC record for payment to Perkins Coie, 2009 April quarterly report (covers Jan. 1, 2009, to March 31, 2009)

FEC record for payment to Perkins Coie, 2009 April quarterly report (covers Jan. 1, 2009, to March 31, 2009)

FEC record for payment to Perkins Coie, 2008 year-end report (covers Nov. 25, 2008, to Dec. 31, 2008)

FEC record for payment to Perkins Coie, 2008 post-general election report (covers Oct 16, 2008, to Nov. 24, 2008)
The FEC shows Obama’s campaign has made regular payments to Perkins Coie since Jan. 1, 2007 – the month he formed a presidential exploratory committee and only weeks before he formally announced his candidacy for president.

In total, Obama has paid Perkins Coie, a single law firm, $2.3 million since he announced his campaign for presidency. By contrast, a cumulative total of all of Sen. John McCain’s legal consulting fees from Jan. 1, 2007, to June 30, 2009, amounts to $1.46 million.

As WND reported, Robert Bauer of Perkins Coie – top lawyer for Obama, Obama’s presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee and Obama’s Organizing for America – is the same Washington, D.C., lawyer defending President Obama in lawsuits challenging his eligibility to be president.

WND also reported that Bauer sent a letter to plaintiff Gregory Hollister, a retired Air Force colonel, of Hollister v. Soetoro, threatening sanctions if he doesn’t withdraw his appeal of the eligibility case that earlier was tossed by a district judge because the issue already had been “twittered.”

If you have had any experience at all in civil litigation, you can almost do the math in your head.

You can drop $200,000 in one relatively simple case before you know it.

These cases are not simple, require multiple law firms in those cases that cross state lines, etc.

There is a simple solution to this. Win the House back and open a congressional investigation. Subpoena the dept of health in Hawaii for his long form, likewise the admission records for all of his colleges and the Dept of State for his passport records.

“as a law student, I hope her professors teach her how to properly, honestly, and with integrity investigate, research the laws, properly cite the laws, and argue issues before her”

Exactly. This little girl thinks that her love of Obama makes her desire for this issue to not exist.

If he had nothing to hide, he wouldn’t have needed to use one minute of attorney time at any cost.

IMPORTANT:

See post 12 and also NOTE that Robert Bauer, the chief Perkins Cole atty for Obama in fighting the release of his records is former WH communications director Anita Dunn’s husband. ( she of the ‘Mao affection as her fave political philosopher’, as exposed by Glenn Beck).

Bauer has just recently been appointed White House Counsel.

They all know they are neck deep in fraud and will do —ANYTHING— to protect their hides at this point. Otherwise they could very likely be behind bars.

It has gone too far.
