Napolitano: The “System Worked”..Even Though A Bomb Made It Through Security

Gotta agree with Jonah here....fire Napolitano.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up an Amsterdam-Detroit airline flight Christmas Day demonstrated that "the system worked."

Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who has been charged with trying to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the jet, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."

Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the suspect] was improperly screened."

The system worked? You have to be joking. How can she claim it worked when a man was able to get a bomb on board a plane and almost set it off were it not for a bad detonator and some heroic passengers?

I caught that too. Doesn’t Gibbs remind you of the school twit everyone wanted to beat up?

“The system” that worked was the age-old one, that people do whatever it takes to protect themselves. The same one that this administration would probably like to outlaw. I just the brave Dutch man doesn’t find himself hauled into court for some real or imagined injury to the perp. With this administration, it’s possible.

This was not an act of terrorism because the perp did not cry out “Allahu Akbar”. ;^)

Napolitano: The “System Worked”

This completely incompetent piece of feces only flies on luxury private jets, like the rest of the criminal Obama Regime.

On the no-fly list...check; has a liquid (how big was the container) and a powder substance...check; went thru security w/out incident...check; boarded plane with escort...check; assembled bomb and proceeded to light it...check.

Random passenger to apprehend alleged suspect...wing and a prayer.

What part of this is the ‘system’ that we depend on?

Absolutely stunning that a HSS would attempt such a bald face lie.

Yeah, sure.

The Fire Department came after the fire was out. Thanks a lump.

Exactly....They're making the flights more "secure" BY CONTROLLING NON-TERRORIST PASSENGERS EVEN MORE!!

I can see it now...terrorist starts doing his evil, but passengers are scolded for getting out of their seats to stop him.

(sorry for the shouting but I'm PISSED).

So the system is to “hope” that the detonator fails and “hope” that there are brave passengers to jump on the terrorists?

We are a nation run by incompetent nincompoops.

I have no doubt in my mind that had the plane exploded, this administration would have denied the terrorist attack, pulled a Clinton....and called it a faulty center fuel tank.

(not that there's anything wrong with that.....)

At least one airline I heard is going to further restrict carry-ons. Most allow a carry-on plus one “personal” bag such as a purse. This airline will restrict to just one bag.

Now I don't know how this will help security since in the subject incident, the bomb was allegedly fastened to the terrorist's person, not carried in a bag.

Most of these so-called security procedures do absolutely nothing for security. They are designed just to be feel good measures to make us think the government is going to prevent terrorism. Let's face it. Government can't guarantee our safety no matter what stupid rules it comes up with.

The terrorist remained seated — the heroes who thwarted the evil scheme had to leave their seats to tackle the martyr wannabe. Solution: keep people from leaving their seats.

The only way to understand this logic is to consider that it comes from the same people, who think that gun control laws prevent criminals from using guns.

What I want to know is why they’ve instituted this stupid “you can’t leave your seat an hour from landing”.

What the hello? So the terrorist just get’s started sooner. Timing wasn’t the problem here. The problem is a guy on a watch list was able to smuggle an explosive on board.

If it weren’t so serious it would be laughable.

Napolitano is an idiot.

. . . Napolitano is in her position because she begged to be freed from the state of Arizona where, as Governor, she led measures to soften the porous borders and to run up a sickening deficit by her All U Can Eat Democrat spending. She left the state broke and infested with illegals. So they gave her that position as a kind of escape route from her own karma. But she will not escape.

Hey c'mon, the stimulus package "worked", the economy was saved from the "abyss" and is growing, and the "system worked"

Get it?

Napolitano is an idiot.

The fact that a PASSENGER had to subdue & disarm this terrorist means that the system failed completely.

Fire the moron, now!

Oh so the “system” is to have some Dutch guy on hand to (at the last second) dive over a fire bomb and hope it doesn’t ignite enough to kill him and few hundred more people.
Is that what she is saying?

Napolitano: The “System Worked”
Seriously, she needs to be tarred and feathered. Enough is enough.
I also noticed CNN says the muzzie tried to "bring the plane down" - not "blow the plane up." Pinko-commie b@stards.

At last report, those rules are airline-only, not government-instigated.

You mean there are rules out there that have not been instituted at the decree of our Dear Leader? He will be most displeased to learn of this!
