“Let me see your papers!” More and more Americans are feeling fearful of our government
The Collins Report ^ | December 31, 2009 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 12/31/2009 6:05:25 AM PST by jmaroneps37

Those of us who grew up in the 1960’s remember old black and white movies made during World War II. We remember the ones about the Nazis usually had a sneering jerk in a black uniform and monocle confronting a “suspicious” civilian with the demand, “Let me see your papers!”

Seventy years later, we thought all of that was left behind, but according to a new Wenzel Strategies report, a growing number of Americans are becoming fearful American citizens might soon be challenged with this same chilling demand.

Very chilling stuff

Wenzel Strategies spoke to 823 likely voters over the weekend of December 18 to 21 and established a margin of error of 3.4%.

The timing of this survey makes its results still more significant for two clear reasons: first the nearness to Christmas should have people’s spirits high and hopeful; and second weekend polls usually reach more Democrats than Republicans.

If this was the case and a number of Democrats have come to this conclusion it adds extra weight to the importance of this finding.

This is the type of news that makes your stomach tighten because it is both overwhelmingly un-American for such a thing to happen here in the land of the free and the home of the brave, and a little voice tells you the 36% of Americans who feel this way might just be correct in their fear of Obama’s Administration.

Wenzel also observed that Republicans “get it.” At a rate of 73% Republicans now agree that “Our freedoms are decreasing under Barack Obama’s presidency.” This is a sharp increase from the 61% that felt this way just last month. Among Independents the month to month increase of fear of government jumped 7%.

Never in our lifetime have things been this scary

I don't want to give up, Panz, but I'm sure as Hell not going to be the one to fire the first shot. Spending time in the clink for being a "lone, right-wing nutjob" would be an insult to my family and frankly all of you. I am associated with a great group of people here on FR, but I think we all hold our tongues despite what we all think. Take fear, mix in some media diversions like Tiger Woods, and use the "rule of law" to evince social changes counter to cultural majority rule, and you've got a bubbling cauldron of socialism and eventual despotism in America! America, of all places!

I reject the notion that America is inherently bad, but our rulers seem Hell-bent on making us atone for being white and proud of our heritage. Over time, they'll demonize us further and ensure that the public is afraid to speak out. Once all of the conservatives in America are silenced on the airwaves, in the broadcast media, and online, how will any of us communicate to tell the other, "I'm with you, my Brother, and I will fight next to you against this tyranny!?"

The first Revolution didn't have widespread support because most of the people in the far stretches of the country didn't have access to media to tell them a war was even ongoing. Nowadays we have the Internet and various other forms of always-on, immediately available media outlets for our consumption. If a Revolution brews in this country, it's going to take a spark in a tinderbox to start it. I can't place where that tinderbox will be, but something massive is coming, it permeates the very air we breathe!

Molwn Labe is actually spelled like this in Arabic lettering. The actual spelling looks like the following graphic and was the response from King Leonidas to Xerxes when Xerxes asked the Spartans to lay down their weapons. Up against a massive army outnumbering them, Leonidas defiantly said "MOLWN LABE!" meaning, "Come and take them!"

“Sorry, but that’s part of the problem right there. Why are you friends with the enemy?”

Because even though it’s not as sexy as polishing my AK and stockpiling ammo, we must establish a *clear* majority as agreeing with us. We are in a war of ideas. The reason we are where we are *right now*, is that our party betrayed our ideas, so the masses tried someone who *claimed* he was a post-partisan centrist. Repubs betrayed us because they rightly think more people will vote for nanny state leader who will fix all their problems.

All this to say, if we do not associate with “the enemy”, and win the war of ideas, we will have no chance to save this nation. We will be permanently ceding them to the enemy camp.

And think of this,, lets say we had an armed revolt and took over. All the current congress is imprisoned for treason. We won. Guess what? Soon you must stand for election and be willing to turn the wheel BACK over to them, or become someone who ignores the stated will of the people. So in the end,,it takes you right back to the war of ideas. This critical front cannot be avoided.

So honestly, if you don’t have a liberal friend or two, you arent doing your part to save America. The Bible says not to hide your light under a basket. Shine it right in a liberals face. Besides, it’s a source of endless entertainment to point out their errors. For fun,, ask your 1st liberal friend if an 18 year old girl should be allowed to abort if she is a little college freshman,,with no income,,and wants to finish school, and the foreign father left her high and dry,,, Watch em pop a critical vessel when you tell em they would have just Aborted Obama.

I’m pretty sure that’s what the Tea Parties were about.

Now, they are appear to be "about" purging libertarians and shilling for pro-Bush hacks such as Sean Hannity.

Oh and, i did forget. Just make sure with lib friends, that YOUR values always dominate. They can come fishing with you,, but you don’t stay at their place when they smoke dope. They can come 4-wheeling with you, but you don’t go to a stop the war rally with them.

It’s amazing, our way of life is way more fun and happy,, we can win this.

“I’d rather live in solitude than fraternize with the scum”

And as for straight out scum, i agree. Some libs are too far gone. Im talking about the one who is your typical centrist, left leaner,,,, and im laughing at the idea of how you would easily be able to irritate the living crap out of them. Invite one to a tea party, or to a July 4th BBQ (with meat)

All this because she wouldn’t join the party.
She had a job at the start of the Nazi regime. The father of the family she worked for became a captain and told her she needed to join the party to keep working for the family.
She could have just joined the ‘party’, attended a couple of meetings, merely going through the motions and kept her position. But she didn’t. She never knew what the Nazis were doing until after the war. Oh, yeah, rumors but hey, Goebbels was in charge. No one knew what to believe.
Was she brave or just stubborn?

What you say may have some merit, but to boast that you are a “certified technical writer”, and then write SO poorly (and not even proof read for spelling) does not inspire confidence.

Back to school?

Please re-read my thread. I said that I’m a certified professional writer, as in a writer of professional documentation. I do a lot of work with contracts, proposals, and policy documentation, and I have a graduate certificate in professional writing, hence the “title.”

That being said, could you kindly point to what it was that was written so poorly?

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Most Liberals are so because of a genetic defect. The rest were made that way, and may(I say may)be changed. The genetic liberals are unable to comprehend conservative thought. You may as well be speaking martian to them. While you are trying to reason with them in a language they do not understand about concepts they can not grasp, they are putting into effect their plan to put you into a re-education camp.
There is no point in discussing anything with them. They are like the terminator. They will not compromise, they will not stop and they have no positive thoughts towards conservatives.
It is impossible to get along with them. If you think differently just look at our history. We have continuously slithered down into the liberal abyss because it is always their way or the highway.
Dither with them if you will, but don’t be shocked when they come for you as they surely will.
