After a stormy summer in which the Kansas City School District shed more than 500 employees, its remade human resources department faces another huge task.
With about 3,300 employees, the district still has about 1,000 more people than most districts with enrollments of about 17,000 students, said Steve Harris, the new assistant superintendent for human resources.
Were way out of sync, Harris said. We want to try to get as close as we can for the next school year.

The new Superintentent (the latest in a long list of losers) directed that everyone on the payroll would have to appear in person to collect his/her paycheck so that the District could validate who was actually drawing a paycheck.
The uproar that ensued could be heard way out here in rural Leavenworth County. Stuck pigs have never squealed so loud. The gall, the audacity, the racism. To demand that employees of the School District actually have to make an appearance and demonstrate that they are a living, breathing, human being. I think that you could easily eliminate 1000 employees without seeing any effect on the number of employees who actually show up for work in the District.
