Romney says Brown can ‘make history’
The Boston Globe ^ | 01-01-10 | The Boston Globe Staff

Mitt Romney - that rare political breed, a Republican elected statewide in Massachusetts - told supporters yesterday that if Scott Brown can pull off a similar feat next month in the US Senate special election, it “would shock the country and send a strong message that business as usual in Washington is coming to an end.’’

“He would bring badly-needed fiscal restraint to an out-of-control budget process that is adding trillions of dollars to our national debt,’’ said Romney, the former Bay State governor who gives every indication he’s preparing a second presidential bid in 2012.

He and his fellow operatives will be back. After all, it’s 2010 now.

Second verse, same as the first.

I would never attempt to speak for him, you don’t seem to have that reservation.... that says something about you.

I'm an ethusiastic DeMint supporter (and voter!)

So now that it is 2009 and the presidential race is over, DeMint doesn't mind having Mitt help him raise money. I guess DeMint's really a RINO, right guys?

I actually had to go look back because I'm not sure of what he specifically said back in MI. From what it looks like, he suggested he would aid the companies with their healthcare/pension costs (though not clear what aid means - and would it require bankruptcy) and would either help the companies with research to get to mileage requirements or eliminate the requirements.

I can't really call that a flip flop.

Well on this thread it is Romney that you are trying to defend, why don’t you elaborate on why you support Mitt Romney?

What is says about me is I KNOW His Word and speak it, act on it every day! Something that offends you.

The more you say, the deeper you go. It's no wonder you're clueless about things and walk in deception and deny it.

Ole meg is a believer in the global warming deception - truly the bottom of the class mentality. RINO MITT loves the clueless - they are his biggest fans!

Cozza pointed to similarities in Whitman’s campaign. “It seems like her consultants are taking her down the middle of the road,” he said. Republicans “want her to come out stronger on fiscal issues.”

Citing a scheduling conflict, Whitman recently declined an invitation from the Republican Party of Los Angeles County Central Committee to speak at a candidates forum Jan. 14. Her primary opponents -- entrepreneur and former state insurance commissioner Steve Poizner (R) and former Rep. Tom Campbell (R) – are set to attend.

Cozza said Whitman is missing an opportunity to court some of the party’s conservative activists. “Most of the people that are active and that are traveling and attending our forums are the conservative people, the tea party people, the patriots,” he said, adding there are some 1.1 million Republicans in the county. “I think it’s a missed opportunity [for her],” he said.

The Whitman campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

Whitman has run a steady stream of radio ads since September but she has not been a ubiquitous presence at grass-roots events, Cozza said.
