Hawaii Hopes for Economic Revival in Wake of Obama Visit (Shave-Ice business booming)
Fox News ^ | 1/2/2010 | Steve Centanni

As President Obama gets a much-needed rest in Hawaii, state officials are hoping that his vacation brings the islands, once a popular vacation spot, much-needed revenue.

"We depend mostly on tourism for our state economy, and when tourism went down, it affects everyone from the state budget to the person that does the dry cleaning," said Marsha Weinert, a state tourism liaison.

Weinert said tourism, which accounts for 25 percent of Hawaii's overall economy, has declined in the last two years by nearly $3 billion.

Now with an unemployment rate of 7 percent and a budget shortfall expected to reach $1.2 billion by the end of 2010, state officials are looking for ways to cut.

What economic revival has the Kenyan ever been responsible for?

Zero!

What gets me about Hawaii, the sham that is Hawaii, is how anti white it is. Now I can see the real native Hawaiians wanting some respect to a point, but what irks me is how other non white Asian groups try also to jump into the native bandwagon and try to pass themselves off as also “natives”. I have news for them - the Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipinos and all the others try to act as if they are also native because they are not Caucasian and because they also lay claim to being a Pacific Ocean peoples. Do you know what I am referring to?

Before Hawaii was discovered there were only the native inhabitants...the Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipinos and all the others came when the Anglos came.

Has anyone seen the Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Filipinos and all the others trying to jump into the minority mentality lets get benefits out of the Haoles bandwagon.

Anyway it also seems to be pure Hawaiian nowadays because the islands have become a big melting pot - there is almost no thing as a native anymore.

Might be nice during winter. I was there for a conference in June. Hot and humid; if you ever got out of the wind you were immediately drenched. Miserable hiking to the convention center in the rain -- out of a clear blue sky, precipitating from 100 feet or so up.

Also remember it as expensive.

What economic revival has the Kenyan ever been responsible for?

Well, after he leaves, their economy will definitely improve.

I’ve also seen Japanese Americans living on the island trying to pass themselves off as native Hawaiians just because they were born there. Sorry, no cigar!

Let’s see now; State of Hawaii......State of Hawaii....isn’t that where they have Barack Hussein Obama’s birth documents sealed in a vault and, thus far, have refused to release any information regarding his true birth records?

Yes, I believe that’s the place!

Weeeeel, in that case; I think Hawaii might be the LAST place I would ever consider going to on vacation and spending my hard-earned money. In fact, the whole state can go pound sand, as far as I’m concerned!

And please permit me to add: I don’t wish Hawaii any bad luck; but if they should happen to have some, I wouldn’t mind hearing about it!!!!!

HI can go to h*ll for covering up for Obama. I will never go there and I can afford it. I would rather spend my money in European countries that may resist Islam.

I suspect one does need a rest in Hawaii after all the globe trotting and vacations taken this past year. He needs to rest up for round 2.

I’m with garjog, Rome2000. You will love it! There is a lot to do there, whether you want to explore, tour, eat, snorkel, etc., or just relax. I don’t know where you are going to be, but I’ve stayed on Waikiki and in Kona on the Big Island. Both were fantastic. My favorite thing to do was parasailing, which I did on both of those islands. I recommend it if you get a chance!

Hawaii is not cheap, but it is well worth the expense. The fact that your vacation is going to be free hopefully means that you’ll be able to spring for a few things (tours, restaurants, etc.) that you might not have otherwise.

Don’t let President Usurper ruin it for you. Hawaii is great. Have a wonderful trip! I can’t wait to get back there myself.

Wow, they think that people will spend several thousand dollars traveling to Hawaii to buy shaved ice because Obama was there?

Okinawa & Hawaii are very similar in their anti-white attitude. If the general public only knew the half of it...

Just out of curiousity I looked up the Four Seasons where Queen Nancy is staying, and I didn’t see a room cheaper than $1K per night, with I think the suites going for $4K. Guess I won’t be going that route.

Hawaii has been slipping into third world-ism for a couple of decades.

The unions have made sure of that.
