Isn’t CPAC the RINO group of republicans?

Isn’t McCain and Mitt-Witt also speaking?

I'm not enamored of CPAC these days. They seem to be more interested in promoting themselves than the conservative agenda. And the John Birch Society is a co-sponsor this year:

The John Birch Society Announces CPAC 2010 Cosponsorship

Sarah Palin is wisely staying away.

Is this the group that Sarah Palin recently said, “Thanks, but no thanks” to?

CPAC: Consciously Providing Ammo to Critics: The 2010 conservative shindig will be sponsored by the conspiracy theorists of the John Birch Society.

Yes it is, I think the John Birch Society, which has been taken over by Mormans is involved too.

FR is boycotting.

Free Republic Founder Joins Boycott Of CPAC

GOProud, a group that advocates same-sex "marriage," a repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, and "expanding access to domestic partner benefits" for homosexuals, is listed as a sponsor of the event at CPAC's website.

You're joking, right? My husband and I have attended CPAC for the past 7 years. Despite the misinformation garbage about CPAC you've seen here on FR (mostly from FReepers who have never attended CPAC), CPAC is overwhelmingly a gathering of CONSERVATIVES.

Back during Campaign 2008, CPAC invited - and all showed up - ALL of the GOP candidates including Romney, Rudy, and McCain, all of whom got polite applause from the thousands in the conservative CPAC crowd.

Ron Paul was also there... most in the crowd snickered at his remarks, although there were a handful of supporters (mostly college-aged guys).

The rousing applause was for Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter, Sam Brownback, and - yes - Mike Huckabee, who happens to give terrific speeches.

And don't bother citing the "important" CPAC straw poll results. That straw poll is a joke... They ask you to fill it out BEFORE you even hear any of the speakers! LOL. Most of the attendees are waaaay too busy enjoying the numerous speakers, panels, exhibitors, conservative talk radio hosts on Radio Row and educational side sessions to take time to fill out the lengthy straw poll forms.

I've attended CPAC since 2003, and every year I witness the same thing: The straw poll reflects the views of a handful of passionate college kids who waste most of their time at the conference "FReeping" those paper ballots for their favorite candidate and issue, and stuffing the cardboard ballot boxes. It is in NO WAY an accurate nor "scientific" straw poll and shouldn't be taken seriously.

FR is boycotting. See link in post 9. Maybe you should check their sponsor list.

I think the John Birch Society is a sponsor of this meeting and they have been overrun by Mormans. So, it isn’t a surprise to me that Glenn, (a Mormon) and Mitt-Witt will be there.

Besides, until Glenn speaks the truth to power about “Light-Skinned Dark Lord Sauron H. Obama with No Negro Dialect except if he needs it” and his BC issue with some truth behind what he says I do not trust him that much.

As far back as I can remember the Log Cabin repubs have had a presence at CPAC.

Here nutmeg this was just posted:

According to a source close to Palin, the event is a forum that will put “special interests over core beliefs” and “pocketbook over policy.”

They seem to be more interested in promoting themselves than the conservative agenda.

So you've attended CPAC for many years? You've actually been there recently and knows what goes on?

Here's the full list of CPAC 2010 cosponsors:

CPAC 2010 cosponsors

I love Sarah Palin, but this will be her loss. CPAC has grown so huge they have had to move four times over the past seven years to larger and larger venues. The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel (this year's CPAC venue) is one of the largest venues in DC. The CPAC organizers said they weren't sure what they're going to do if CPAC outgrows the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

It's too bad Sarah won't speak there... she would've brought the house down, and the thousands in the filled-to-capacity ballroom would have loved to see her.

I plan to enjoy speeches by Glenn Beck, Marco Rubio and other conservatives at CPAC 2010 immensely.

Well, at least that great unprincipled, two-faced, life long liberal and Mormon, Willard “Myth” Romney, won't be closing CPAC.

Wonder what GOProud and the Birchers will be offering this year? Condoms with peace signs?

I'll watch it on CSPAN. I'm going to New Orleans in April to see Sarah Palin.

I got fed up with CPAC after they made their deals to help get FedEx Unionized.
