I applaud your efforts and I think you missed my sarcasm tag. My problem is with the other posts on this thread, which are pretty ugly, actually. I have no desire to be associated with a political outlook that associates itself with those kinds of sentiments.

Again you are cluttering the thread with unsolicited opinions that have nothing to do with the request here. By opining unwanted perspective, you are discouraging others from contributing useful information.

Why do you feel you need to lecture people about something that they can think for themselves, and which is not the aim of this thread?

The thread is for discussing information about who to contact for old ambulances that may be available for donation. If you have knowledge or know someone that does, then please post it.

Otherwise, keep your comments to yourself or take them somewhere else.

You insulted all of us who have big hearts, open pocketbooks, and good sense.

Well given the nasty things some folks have said here, I would not gather that this forum is made up of people with either big hearts, or good sense.

Those people are not conservatives although they may think and say they are. Still your comments and theirs do not belong here.

Start your own thread about such posters and reference this one for a discussion of how small minded smartasses feel the need to see themselves on the internet and spew their ‘profound wisdom’ such as ‘forklifts are better yada yada yada’ on everyone else.

“I may have misspoke by saying all of Haiti. It does not matter, ambulances are needed, enough said.”

You misspoke, and I got you to clarify your prior statement. Had you written it correctly to begin with you wouldn’t have wasted anyone’s time.

You might want to check with the state dept before going any further with this request. Last I saw they were saying that no private organization that wasn’t already established there could send anything at this time except money into Haiti because there is no way to get anything else into the country right now.

Excuse me but no one asked you what is more worthy to pay attention to. This request for ambulances is from an organization that took the time to travel to Miami to ask for help and is now back in Haiti trying to do what they can.

There are hundreds of needs and some more critical than others. But this is a genuine need and you have no business butting in and saying you think it’s not important. No business whatsoever in your participation here. Take your perspective somewhere else.

I am a conservative. I do not take orders from Obama’s Clinton department. Haiti is not on the terrorist list nor is it forbidden to travel there.

And the organization that requested the ambulance donations is already established there. If we get word to them of where there might be an ambulance for donation, then they can arrange to have it shipped there, with our help.

No part of my government or my conservative philosophy is going to deny a humanitarian request for medical help period.

And if you meant well then you would post a link. And if the link was as you said, then you would get Freepers to deluge the State Dept official that posted that crap and tell them to back off.

As far as not being able to get material and equipment other than money into the country, that is nonsense. There may be shipping problems but people always find a way when there is a genuine need.[

Well pat yourself on the back. In the meantime your contribution is about as effective as Obama’s jobs program.

You can find some on craigslist, but you’d have to check each city individually.

Here’s one in Miami:

You’re quite wrong that Republicans hate charity. Here are just a few stats to back up the fact that conservatives are far more charitable than liberals.

Republicans give a bigger share of their incomes to charity, says a prominent economist

Being that I don’t have any ambulances nor the funds to acquire one there is no contribution on my part towards your request.

However, you may puruse eBay Autos and see if there are any there and also check state/county government surplus auctions as I have seen some listed over the years.

Wow what a mean response for someone asking for something for free! I have no link because the person from the state dept was on TV saying this. There is no way anything is going in right now except for what the governments of the world are sending now because there is one airport and you have to have prior clearance to land, the roads are gone as are the reports of the ports being damaged beyond repair last I heard.I really think you should back off with your attitude and use your head before opening your mouth.I would say on a scale of 1-10 with the needs of Haiti that ambulances would be about a 20!

My post was meant as a farcicle presentation of the democrats view of conservatives, but emphasizing how some of the posts here play into the democratic point of view. More unfortunately, two many folks here don’t have antennae for sarcasm, even when you put a sarcasm tag on something. Of course conservatives are charitable, at least the ones I would call conservative.

Are they mobilizing to keep Haitians from coming over the mountains or around in boats?

24/7/365 for at least a hundred years. If you drive up to the border, on the Haitian side there's not a tree over 2" thick. On the Dominican Republic side there are hundreds of mahogany trees that it would take six people joining hands to reach around. I asked how the Dominicans kept the Haitians from poaching the trees. "Machine guns."

Obama is already sending a zillion dollars of my robbed money (called “taxes”) over to Haiti. I feel no need to contribute more.

But you are welcome to contribute more of your own money on anything you wish.

P.S.

When was the last time you were in Haiti (if ever)?

That is so helpful! There are organizations that can purchase that ambulance! One school in North Miami raised already $29,000 and the Gift For Life Charity will ask them to use part of it to purchase this ambulance!

You have made a difference!

Thank you! Thank you! A thousand times.

I will keep you posted!

That’s what we are doing, we are using our own money and time.

Notice that we as conservatives are not relying on Obama or any federal government to do what we ourselves can do.

I am sorry you feel you don’t have to do anything because Obama and the federal government are already doing it for you. You must be a democrat to think like that.
