TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. Police questioned a passenger on a small commercial plane that flew from Chicago to a northern Michigan resort town on Friday after the crew reported he was acting suspiciously.
Crew members aboard United Airlines Flight 6036 said the 28-year-old California man had taken "an article" into the bathroom and left without it, said Traverse City Police Capt. Steve Morgan. The crew found that a panel inside the bathroom had been tampered with, he said.
They requested law enforcement assistance while approaching Cherry Capital Airport, Morgan said.
A government official said earlier the passenger had made a bomb threat, but Morgan said there was no bomb threat. A bomb sniffing dog was called in to sweep the aircraft and luggage and nothing was found, he said.

Testing, one, two, three, am I logged in?
One of them is lying. Find out which and fire him. Or hang him publicly as an example.
Was the California man a Democrat? Was the supposedly disappeared "article" a gerbil?
This seems significant. Did they check it out? Is there anything behind the panel?
Next thing will be locked loos on airplanes and we will all be told to suit up with pampers before boarding..no toilie time kiddies...pampers only..
can you just imagine the odor at the end of a long flight.eeewwwuuuuu.
It was a routine flight. 1) passenger alarmed people, 2) took article to bathroom and did not return with it, 3) government official said there was a bomb threat, airline officer said there wasn’t, 4) a panel was removed in the barthroom. Yup, real routine. Flying on a plane is nuts.
One question, was the passenger a Muslim?
That’s ALWAYS the question, and we are constantly kept in the dark about the answer.
