Where is the Haitian government? (I haven’t seen this in news coverage.)

I for some reason this time am not watching TV at all.... From what I can piece together it is a living hell over there right now. I saw a photo on CNN.com a man holding a knife to anothers throat while looting going on all around..... Prayers for that country....
They need to break out of their evil voodoo culture over there that has the people in bondage to the devil and all the death and destruction that accompanies it.

I've read hundreds of online articles about missionaries in Haiti, about school groups doing donation trips to Haiti, about Americans setting up orphanages in Haiti, about huge church groups doing one or two week stints volunteering in Haiti ----- there are hundreds and hundreds of articles and webpages about U.S. citizens volunteering IN Haiti.
It doesn't surprise me that this number is missing, I suspect that it is a lowball estimate; in the very beginning, it was stated that there were between 45 to 50 thousand Americans KNOWN to be in Haiti -- and I'd hazard a guess that the greater number of them were located in Port au Prince, right at the epicenter.
No, you completely misunderstood me. I didn’t say I didn’t want them to get the Americans out as a priority, I said I DIDN’T WANT THE MEDIA COVERING IT if they are.
You know damn well it what it would be twisted into then.
Best to get them out fast and on the QT.
And regarding Bill etc - IMHO the damn politicians etc need to STAY OUT OF THE AREA and let the people actually doing the work get in first. Frankly, other than maybe Sanjay Gupta, who is doing medical work while he’s there, I’d like to ban the media from the area as well.

And as far as taking risks when going to a 3rd world country, that is just COLD HARD FACT.
In a major catastrophe you can’t depend on the embassy to save your a$$, you need to know that going in.

Well, there’s two things that I’ve noticed in that regard (about voodoo in Haiti)... some know it’s massively there in the country, but think it’s no big deal and that it’s like going to church or something... LOL...
And some others don’t know it’s a problem at all...
I mention it so that it’s clear that it’s a massive problem in their culture and has been for decade upon decade.

I understand what you mean about Democrats in terms of being Godless in terms of their values and morals and thus carrying that through in politics, but in terms of the “voodoo culture” of Haiti, that’s a very specific type of evil practice and in the sight of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that’s even lower than being Godless...
Some people use the “terminology” of “voodoo” in a loose way, as in when some Democrats called Reagan’s economics “voodoo economics” — but that’s not the sense in which I’m referring to Haiti and their culture over there...
