First proposed by Michelle Malkin.
In case the the Republican National Committee hasn't seen the light: the obvious candidate for the Republican response to Obama's State Of The Union Address in a few days is SCOTT BROWN!
The effects would be electrifying to the Republican and Independent bases and be an OUTSTANDING Day One for the November 2010 Election battle.
A very good idea, and would be good PR for the GOP, but my guess is that the powers that be would not want to give him such a high profile.
Intestingly, Obama was barely a Senator before he started to run for President. Maybe there is something in the Zeitgeist that appreciates newness.
Thank you for this post and I agree!
Are you listening to this guy mentioning Mccain? No thanks I will take the victory but if he doesnt get off the stage soon I may junmp off the roof.
That isn’t the way to look at it.
The idea of placing him as the voice for the rebuttal is that at the moment he symbolizes the opposition to this bill. The rest is secondary to that at this time. People will remain watching to see this man who actually won on this issue as a Republican in a state like MA. Out of curiosity if for no other reason. I really can’t think of anyone else wh could give that address who would provide the same impact on this issue and this is the primary concern of conservatives right now because it’s the bill being addressed presently.
Believe me...I am no supporter of Liberals in the GOP. I have been knocking down people suggesting him as a Presidential candidate. But on this, no, I have to disagree with you. For this he’d be perfect.
Add in some of the conservative issues he ran on like cutting spending and tax cuts and defense...he should be able to do fine without hurting our cause in that primetime address.
OH Yeah!!!!
That would be SO MUCH better than Bobby Jindal’s last year!
Isn’t this guy a RINO or almost-RINO who supported RomneyCare? It is wonderful to see him defeat Coakley, but how about having an effective proponent of conservative principles out there, not the latest Republican-likely-to-disappoint-conservatives?
I heard him rail against the heath bill. Less spending. More tax cuts. Stated it’s wrong to give special rights to terrorists. Put down the back room dealing.
Stop being so damn reactionary because he mentioned Maverick’s name. I hated that part too but issue wise he hasn’t really said anything bad. Isn’t that what matters?
Who do you think should give the Republican response to President Obama’s January 27 State of the Union?

Perfect - this is absolutely perfect!!
This fight isn’t over yet — we still have 11/2010 and 11/2012...
bump
I vote for Jim DeMint...
He is a moderate but I am not complaining and hope he stands by the idea that he will not pass the HCB.
I am someone looking beyond tonight Jim Demint should give the response for someone to post this headline to me shows all emotion(lib like) and not an ounce of reason which we will need to win in the end.
The battle for freedom has just begun it may take decades to make this guy the next Reagan is moronic especially after listening to his acceptance speech,
Just an observation; decaf next time.
Only if the GOP handlers leave him alone......
More than anything this election demonstrated to me that we have an unprincipled electorate electing unprincipled politicians.
I wish the GOP well on their victory but they lost me along time ago with their instance on trending left.
Brilliant! He’s just the man for it.
We also need mass disruption at the Usurper’s self-centered “State of Myself” speech.
He deserves NO RESPECT.
On a side note, I went to jr. high, high school, and undergrad college (MSU - go ‘Cats!) in Montana. I love that place, an I'll be moving back some day with my family.
Personally, I think this is an excellent idea. Brown’s giving the Republican response to the 0bama SOTU would underline for all that the American people are opposed to statist power grabs masquerading as reforms in general and the Lefty ‘health’ scheme in particular.
