Ukrainian Genocide by Famine- Glenn Beck Show
Glenn Beck Show ^ | Jan 18,2010 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 01/22/2010 9:49:55 AM PST by toshut

Today, Friday January 22, 2010, at 5 pm, Glenn Beck will be airing a documentary with a significant segment dedicated to highlighting the Ukrainian Famine/Genocide of 1933, also known as The Holodomor. It was planned and carried out by Stalin and the Communist Party of the USSR. An estimated 8-10 million people died as a result of this little known catastrophe because it has been covered up by Communists and their supporters in the media.

This is a must see documentary that will inform you about the horrors of Communism that few Americans are aware of.

A good source of historical information on this tragedy is the book "The Harvest of Sorrow" by Robert Conquest.

That can’t be right!

Stalin was a GREAT guy!

Just read some of Pulitzer Prize winner Walter Duranty’s articles in the New York Times from that era. You’ll see!

;-)

If you only got your history from television and the movies, you would grow up thinking the only villains who ever existed in world history were the NAZIs and the WW2 Japanese.

Its about time that the view of America was expanded to include other odious tyrannies.

With the fall of the Soviet Union, many records of the former KGB have been discovered by the current Ukrainian government and made public. As a result, there is irrefutable evidence as to the scope and cause of this atrocity, and who the responsible parties were, starting from Stalin, on down. The result of this historical documentation, is that the Ukrainian government recently brought the matter to court in Ukraine successfully, and there are calls from the current President of Ukraine for a Nuremburg 2, to deal with all the crimes of the Communist era in Eastern Europe, so that they see the light of day, and are not forgotten.

That’s exactly right. As a first-generation American whose parents escaped the Communists, and with relatives who died in or en-route to Siberia (their crimes, being too middle-class) — I often feel like I am the lone voice in the crowd who knows of the horrors.

No mainstream movies, no documentaries, nothing about Stalin, Lenin, not to mention Mao and the other bastards. All the Communist sympathizers and full-fledged Communists in Hollywood/Sundance/etc. wouldn’t go for it....

This special Beck is having is the first time in my life I can recall someone on tv bringing this up.

Having family that remained in Ukraine when my grandparents were sent over as children, I haven’t forgotten this.

But it doesn’t get much coverage.

My paternal grandmother was from the Ukraine but left prior to the Bolshevik revolution, my dad was born in 1917 in the US. I grew up hearing how horrible the Bolsheviks were and that’s what they were called in our house. I, too, am glad this story will be told.

There was a mainstream movie made about communism, but of course it romanticized it. Reds was a huge hit.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but sometimes it’s such a relief to be heard...

I heard Beck talking yesterday -— he said something like that “Uncle Joe” and “Chairman Mao” are seen as cuddly, almost teddy-bear-like because of all the propaganda from the Left.

That is SOO true! For most people/Americans?, chills don’t radiate up their spines, alarm bells going off, such as when they certain other tyrants’ photos. If nothing else, Stalin and Mao are just two more politicians, to many, thanks to the control of history, the state schools, the entertainment industry by the leftists.

I have a parishioner who lived thru the Genocide and whenever he is reminded of it he breaks down in tears like it was yesterday.

He lost siblings as well as other family members and hundreds of neighbors on their village.

His descriptions are incredible and painful, but practically no one in the US knows about this because our education system does not allow anyone to learn about it

In the end, they were all Kulaks. So will we if we don’t take the congress, the culture, and the White House back.

In addition to Dr Hunczak, who assited Glenn in this documentary, author and Director, Edvins Snore will be discussing his film, “The Soviet Story”, which will be featured prominently in the show. This is an excellent film and well worth seeing, as well as sharing with others. More information on the film can be found here:

My parents were little when they fled in the 1940s. Their parents were doctors, lawyers, dentists, and architects, so that was considered upper middle class -— even though their homes were quite modest. They waited it out through the first battles between the Communists and the Nazis, but then had to flee, relatives were starting to disappear to Siberia. And the Russian Communists were placed in my father’s home to “take care of it”....

My father’s family’s choice was Hitler or Stalin, and they were going to be better off in one of Hitler’s camps than in Stalin’s... that is pretty horrible.

My mom’s family made it to Austria which had already surrendered...

They all thought they’d only be gone for a couple of years until the war ended, but we know what Communist-sympathizer and “Uncle Joe’s” buddy FDR did at Yalta.

The Dresden story also needs to be told, full of Baltic people and other refugees, women, children, who were murdered in the worst possible way.

That’s sick.... (Reds)

One movie that I was surprised that was made, and it was mainstream actually — but way back in 1965? — I just saw it mentioned in the article you posted — “Dr. Zhivago.”

At least some of the horrors of the Bolshevik Revolution were shown there....
