Conrad Black: Incompetent Obama teeters on the edge
National Post ^ | 1/22/2010 | Conrad Black

Posted on 01/23/2010 3:26:13 AM PST by comps4spice

The burning question after the Massachusetts Senate election is whether the administration responds by making a course correction to survive politically by jettisoning its policy core and cleaning up its methods, or 'doubles down,' as President Obama has implied, and escalates the ideological and guerrilla war for direction of public policy. This was a referendum on the Obama administration, including health care, not just on health care.

Excellent read.

Obama has lead the nation to the precipice, and the nation is backing up. The question remains whether or not Obama will jump.

I wonder just how long a narcissist like Obama will stay in office if the nation refuses to bow and scr*pe and laud him. It would not surprise me if he resigns in a hissy fit of hubris.

It’s good to see more great writing by Conrad Black, and thanks to the Ashers for publishing it. Conrad is in prison due to years of plotting and scheming by bipartisan, anti-family, globalist oligarchs.

I am more worried about him becoming more mentally unstable than he already is. Narcissists do not handle very well the kind of situation he has created for himself.

Maybe if we are lucky the men in the white coats will carry him off before he starts pushing any buttons.

"...as Peggy Noonan, Ronald Reagan's leading speech-writer,..."

...interesting mention. The man has quite a memory.

I absolutely do not see him resigning. Even if he wanted to, there’s no way his handlers would let it happen. He’d have to run screaming and blubbering out of the WH straight to a podium with his entourage hot on his heels trying to catch him.

Obama will continue down the garden path of socialism/communism, but he’ll lie even more about doing so. He has to keep his BFF Leftwingers in line, so he’ll make backroom deals and promises and the MSM will keep quiet about it. Publicly he’ll say one thing, privately he do something else. We’ve already been told that Brown’s win was his, Zero’s fault, that he didn’t articulate his vision clearly enough to America. (The dolts). Once he uses words of one syllable maybe we’ll get it. This is for our own good, of course, and we’re just too dumb to appreciate it. Arrogant narcissism won’t change after a lifetime of being petted and feted and told how wonderful he is. A few months of Dr Jekyll. to ease voter fears and after the Nov. elections, the mask is off and Mr. Hyde will shove healthcare down our throats for good. That’s the plan.

I got zotted here (in a previous incarnation of the PhilosopherStone avatar) for suggesting that electing Obama might be the best thing for conservatism since Jimmy Carter.

While the price we have paid has been high, here is what we have managed to purchase:

The death of the “race card”. No, lefties will continue to drop the race card, but it is no longer trump. In fact, the first person who drops the race card is now the loser in any debate. For proof, look at Olbermann’s ratings.

The death of the “fascist” card. Yeah, all those mouth breathing knuckle draggers in fly-over country like... Massachusetts...

The death of the MSM. Never again will the American people allow such an egregious dereliction of duty on the part of the people who are supposed to vet candidates and ask them the tough questions before they get elected.

We will survive Dumb0, and we will be stronger for it.

I have seen a few of his types fold and go away in Industry. Completely inequipped for the job, but told all their lives they are Special Geniuses, they have no Plan B. They have never failed before and do not accept its possibility. Eventually, hopping from one disaster to another, they run out of people to blame.

That is why there can never be a Bill Clinton reinvention with this one. Clinton had skills. He even had had jobs.

The viewership ratings of the SOTU Adress will tell it all.

You're kiddin' yourself if you think a power hungry personality disorder like this would willingly step down from the most powerful office in the world.

“... or ‘doubles down,’ as President Obama has implied,...”

Double down, of course. HOW is the only question.

This isn't Bill (or even Hillary Clinton). This is A man who is a failure, a hater and VICIOUSLY angry. His closest advisers and office holding supporters are very much like him.

He is unlikely in that he in no way manner shape or form can he be posited, with respect to traditional American Culture as POTUS, and yet...there he is. He and his circle, like Adolph Hitler and his, are driven by demons. These are people whose flaws drive them AND (ultimately) destroy them. These are people who are not aware of or can't acknowledge their shortcomings or flaws. Anyone who thinks that Barak Obama is a politician who wants to survive in office and will bend with the wind to do so hasn't been watching The Insane Clown President and hasn't been reading History.

Anger is cancer of the soul. Anger destroys. Little Barak, like little Adolph, is angry.

“We will survive Dumb0, and we will be stronger for it. “

IF we survive DumbO, we will eventually be stronger for it. Unless the Chinese, Russian, and Muslims have something to say about it.

***Obama might be the best thing for conservatism since Jimmy Carter.***

Good call!

It will require a rude awakening, sacrifice and a realization by the American electorate - to realize what we almost lost. Tough lesson - but an enduring one.

I notice how we on FR have begun making favorable comments about Clinton vs. Obama. The Dems must surely be doing the same algebra....just as Conservative Pubbies constantly compare Reagan to Dubya.

New day dawning;)

I absolutely shudder at the thought of: President Biden

But, it actually might be an improvement.

Hope somebody is asking Soros as he has the answer. Zero just goes through the motions in between golf and hoops games.

I forgot who said, "Politics is the art of the possible."

What Obama is seeking to do now is the impossible. There is no place for this nutjob to go if he seeks to beat the American people into submission to his demands.

He will take himself, his party and the country into total ruin in pursuit of his selfish delusions.

I have said many times that it is possible Zero could destroy the Democratic party. He will at least leave it in shambles.

The longer it takes the libtards to wake up to that fact the better off we are.

From the article:

” If he wants to double down on what we have seen in the last year, he will leave the White House in a submersible in three years.”
