"Birther" Whispering Campaign Inside the Democrat Party?
Self | HMV

Posted on 01/24/2010 4:52:57 PM PST by Hillary'sMoralVoid

It started out innocently in a conversation with a well-connected Democrat friend who is now-disillusioned Obama voter.

We were discussing the Massachusetts election, and I joked that I didn’t know if the Democrats could stand another three years under Obama. He fired back that he and several of his friends didn’t know if they could stand ONE more year under Obama.

I posited that the only way it could happen that fast is if you could get him out of office on something like an eligibility issue, and that I couldn’t imagine any Democrat would ever become a “birther”!

There was a silence for a few moments and then he confided that “one might surprised at what is being whispered about by disillusioned members at high levels in the party”. He cut the conversation off at that point and we reverted back to small talk.

This all sounded so not credible to me, but you can never underestimate the Democrats’ desire to stay in power. The more I pondered his words, the more intriguing and perhaps terrifying the outcomes became.

Consider this scenario, the Democrats actually let “birther” investigations to go forward, publicly condemning the Republicans for pushing the issues, while quietly not impeding or even facilitating them . Two outcomes can happen. Obama is proven eligible and the Republicans are embarrassed and fall from public grace. Obama retains power and Democrats regain some public confidence.

Should Obama be removed from office, it becomes the ultimate opportunity to play the race card, because the still-“conservative” Supreme Court would have to “conspire” with the "racist" Republicans to force Obama’s departure from office. Democrats could swear Obama’s innocence, a repeat of the Lewinsky defense, in which Bill Clinton came out more powerful politically. The Democrats could raise the race issue with the Republicans until the end of recorded time for removing the first Black President from office.

At the precipice of their political comeback, the Republicans could fall hard! A Democrat "Rope a Dope"?

Admittedly this is a shameless self post, maybe I’m reading more into this than was really there. If you disagree, flame away, pull the post, and tell me to take my meds and go to my room.

The Democrats are in a terrible mess, and you can see the trends working against them on an almost daily basis. Everyone in the leadership chain is toxic, with Obama being the worst. I cannot imagine three more years of this, nor can I imagine the Democrats not considering a nuclear option to cleanse their own ranks.

There is only one person who can do this, and that is Bill Clinton. The bad news is that it is not in his interest to do anything to help Obama, but if he takes him down, he risks destroying the party. He cannot assume a visible role, as it might harm his legacy and he might have to live with some gnarly results.

The thinking on this thread is clear...there is no easy escape route for the democrats, they are too heavily invested in the corruption. Again, only an outsider like Clinton could possibly conceive a political solution that might save the party, but even he is facing a huge downside.

I wouldn’t bank on that. The bruthas are already massively disappointed in The One. As I anticipated, they did not turn out for him in MA.

I talked to someone recently who works with a lot of blacks who voted for O. They all think he's the antichrist now. And they are serious about it.

No reruns and no specials. There is nothing for it in the USC. The USSC won’t permit it.

I replied to a post six months or so ago that Hillary will be Vice President when Obama either resigns or is removed from office; he can’t be impeached, he wasn’t eligible to begin with.

President Biden will either get “sick” or will resign having had knowledge of Obama’s ineligibility.

Voila, President Hillary R. Clinton.

President Biden? President Pelosi? President Byrd?

The mind boggles at how much worse our leadership can get if 0bama is impeached.

That's just it. Obama is not their problem. The an entire party leadership is off the deep end.

This is the best idea since I started the whispering campaign that the health care bill had money for psychological counseling for gays who wanted to be straight again!

I agree now with the sentiments expressed in a couple of posts above, that the prominent Republicans and folks like Beck need to stay away from the subject altogether. The Republicans cannot bring Hussein down with any kind of info even if obvious and proved. If they are trying when the Democrats decide to do the deed themselves then the Republican Party and conservatives in general will have the Racist Putsch label ineradicably pasted on their butts. When you disagree with Rush’s choices you have to remember he probably has more political savvy than just about anyone else in the commentariat. He has learned what will work and what will get you hurt to no good end. I remember him dipping his toe in the water several times -think Vince Foster- and then shutting up when he realized he could accomplish nothing positive with it and could do harm to Conservativism.

Bill would have been gone in a heart beat if the economy was 1/10th as bad as it is now.
The economy was good
everyone had a job
Life was great

It is much different now and the Dems know that they can’t have two presidents in a row that have big problems. People will not tolerate that. In fact it could cause a rehashing of all of Bill and Hilary’s misdeeds. They run way too big a risk to let this bozo continue.

AS far as Detroit is concerned there is not much left to burn. Maybe all the rioters can be convinced to go there and finish ther job.

The Democrats are in a terrible mess, indeed, and getting rid of “O” publicly is the only way they can save themselves in November. Buyer’s remorse is turning into flopsweat panic. Every week that clown drags this nation further into the insolvency dims their chances most of all. They HAVE to get rid of him—come what may—because the alternative is even worse.

Obama’s unpopularity is not just worsening, it’s worsening exponentially.

Bush/Hussein mirrors to some extent Hoover/FDR. Hoover started the government intervention to bail out the economy and the Republicans lost the next election. FDR made things much worse and was thought by many on the Right to be a Communist at heart and in effect. He won three more elections.

You are correct on all points. That being said, where have YOU been?

I see your “Freeper Birthday is ‘2010-1-24’”

I think we can clearly conclude that Obama is a liability and that cracks are appearing in the facade that is the Democrat Party. They have a real problem and getting rid of Obama and the key leadership in the House and Senate is their only hope of recovery sometime in the distant future. They built a house of cards on lies and deception and the “chickens are coming home to roost”.

Doing so will set them back with Black voters for decades to come, but keeping him in will set them back with all the remaining voters. The choice is clear.

"...I often wonder if they are part of a paid and controlled opposition."

me too...Rush, Coulter, Sean Hannity, (ok, most of AM Talk Radio) totally dismissed the the birth certificate issue with the same reason all about the same time.

Their reason:

"let's not go there, more important issues to contend with"

Somehow I thought this quote from this article from Slate backs up the direction of your thinking:

What do presidents do when they should fire themselves? They fire their advisers and bring in a new crew. That's what may happen here. I'd guess we're about 36 hours away from a Beltway call for "wise men." ...
