He even brought the Presidential podium with Seal and all, almost like a mock State of the Union address,, maybe this is an insult to the country almost like saying,, when I speak to the country I’ll be speaking to more children
Good Grief.
The video shows him looking from side to side, not at this camera or the children in front of him. An explanation is that there are two teleprompters in front of him at the corners of the room. I guess that is the evidence. Not ironclad, but suggestive.
It is priceless, with this line of dialog:
"...and there was the cap lock incident, where Obama nearly shouted himself hoarse over the course of that speech, and there were various mixups where teleprompter operators displayed the wrong lines...once it caused him to say "I played a little basketball myself in high school" after sampling a piece of Cape Cod salt water taffy...boy, the GOP had a field day with that one...it was awful...Obama was furious about it; he had his staff put a long angry rant into the teleprompter for him to scream at them..."
The sound on my computer isn’t working. Is he proposing that elementary school kids should be allowed to use teleprompters when taking tests?
ChessExpert, are you joshing me (I sometimes don’t get those online...:) or if you don’t see them, are you looking at another video?
Pathetic to the enth degree.
This has been discussed here today. The teleprompter speech at the school was to the press and media. Just before that in a different classroom Obama met with the students, no teleprompter.
I guess this answers the question we had the other day.
He was thanking his education secretary for attending, and then he heaps praise on this Virginia school for it’s innovative teaching techniques.
I looked more closely, and I do not see 6th graders, so....perhaps the only ones in attendance were adults?
What instead is suggested is that the audience was composed of little kids, and his tone is puuuure politics —there is no warpath or father-like indulgence or protection at all.
If around him there are large numbers of small children, then this would be a PR disaster and would make him look foolish and out-of-touch.

According to John Derbyshire, Obama’s secretary of education’s background is as an education bureaucrat—he never actually taught. I haven’t checked but that would not surprise me.
