Serious question: was Keith Olbermann this upset over Umar Mutallab's attempt to kill everyone aboard NWA 253?
Olbermann predictably led this evening's Countdown with the James O'Keefe story—the arrest in connection with the apparent attempted interference with Sen. Mary Landrieu's phone system of the young man who exposed ACORN.
Faith-based readers should actually be encouraged, because Olbermann appears to have gotten religion. Keith is clearly praying—fervently—that this will turn out to be, as the Countdown graphic suggests, "Watergate Jr.," with Republican officials revealed to be behind O'Keefe's latest venture.

O’Keefe didn’t gain access to the building under false pretenses. The staffers knew he was there and who he was. He wasn’t dressed as a phone company employee.
O’Keefe never touched any of the phones and didn’t go with the impostors when they were seeking access to the “phone closet”. The phone closet was on a different floor from O’Keefe. The affidavit didn’t mention any equipment having been found that could be used to tap the phones. O’Keefe did know the others involved but it sounds like they were very recent acquaintances.
The media is running with this and spinning it hard because O’Keefe and Giles embarrassed them badly.

I don’t know...no matter how I read it, it still sounds bad.
The problem for Olbermann is, O’Keefe doesn’t matter. His videos speak for themselves. The ACORN pukes they show have to somehow refute or explain what the videos show them saying. They can’t. All Herr Olbermann accomplishes by ranting about what a reprobate O’Keefe is is to bring the videos to the attention of more awakening sheeple.

Became obvious to me when a car ran over our green box a half mile away, and after it was fixed I began getting someone else’s calls. I could call out, but in reality it wasn’t my phone number.
As to the capitol or any other government building, I’m betting someone would have a difficult time finding a green box. I would think all the phone service would go through hardened, and tightly controlled locations, at least until it got to a trunk.

I think alot of people are in denial. It looks like the kid did a really stupid thing and now he's lost all the promising career he just launched so splendidly.
Olberman, as always, is an idiot, imagining some far-reaching Republican tentacles all over this thing.
With his ACORN work, O'Keefe had an outrageous idea and ran with it with spectacular results. But it now looks like it was a lucky shot in the dark. Apprarently, his idea for a follow up was boneheaded in the extreme. My guess is he'll wind up with probation and a record.
And the left can try and try, but his latest escapade does absolutely nothing to diminsh the crimes he exposed from ACORN. They're still a criminal outfit.

if o'keefe was trying to social engineer his way in to plant a wiretap, given his high profile, he is an idiot/crazy. imho.
While what he did was extremely stupid, could it have been a set up? Do we know anything about the other three people involved?

I saw some video of O’Keefe this morning and he seemed quite please with himself. It makes me wonder if he didn’t get himself arrested on purpose.
