Use this thread to keep others up-to-date on what is going on in your area... for this state... :-)
Global warming has caught the last train to Clarksville.
Well, I got the Tennessee thread going sooner than I thought... :-)
Here ya go... have at it and let all the others in the state to post what is going on here...
What part of the state are you in — and what’s it doing there?
less than 2 inches so far here in cookeville.
12-18 inches ? Who the hell is writing this malarkey ? We haven’t gotten but 2 inches in Nashville as of 3:30 pm.
I’m not, I’m in Virginia, which will be getting the snow starting tomorrow.
My cousin is in Nashville.
They have 2 inches of snow and she has posted from her mobile phone that the lights are blinking out. It’s herself, her disabled son and her elderly mother. She said no help from caregivers because they can’t make it through the snow but they have plenty of food and firewood.
Ahhh..., was going to get to that one later on... :-)
We have about 3 inches in south Nashville right now...a little icing has started but is supposed to get colder and snow almost all night
I have no idea, but be sure to post the updated forecast information for everyone else in the state... if you have articles or newscasts or whatever... :-)
I know from the state of Oklahoma, the forecast was changing every day and even every 6 hours...
It’s coming down lightly, but consistently here. It’s now covered the tops of the grassblades (a rarity these days). The highest prediction I saw was for 6 inches, but I’ll believe it when I see it. We used to get a (relatively) lot of snow in the winter season prior to the late ‘80s, but snow has been rare and we’ve had warmish winters since (I believe we hit 60 earlier in the week).
If we get to 6 inches, that might be the single largest amount in one shot in probably close to 25 years. We get 1 inch in TN (excluding the Mountains in the East, which is a different story), and everybody goes into panic mode, that’s how rare the snowfall has become.

Bureaucrats actually closed schools in Owensboro, KY today, based upon the forecast of this “winter storm.” The only flakes anyone has seen are on TV!
I was about one inch on West End when we closed the office down this morning. It shifted down here to Franklin big time but we only have about 1-2 inches and it’s still “warm” enough that it’s just slush. But it’s going to freeze after dark.
The snow is real light now. There is NO WAY this is going to be 8 inches like they are talking even if it snows all night. It’s not.
At 7 pm I’ll still be drinking beer outside in the hot tub listening to talk show podcast! ;-)
Snow started up here in Knoxville about an hour ago. Less than an inch so far, and roads are still OK, but that will surely change through the night.
I loved Mallard Fillmore in today’s comics... I’m not burning Al Gore’s books because I’m a book burner. I’m burning Al Gore’s books because I’m freezing.
I am in Mississippi across from McNairy County. Just slush at this time and a cold hard rain. A couple of degrees colder and driving is going to be on ice. Everything is shut down in the city, school is out and everyone is hunkered down. I have to go in and take care of a couple of sick dogs but the roads are just slick..not treacherous.
