Are they gonna pump air in there? How does a power plant “capture” carbon dioxide?
Innovation or insanity?....
This is a joke - right?
They can store air in my basement for a few bucks.
Hurry, hurry, hurry!!!!
Since this obviously has nothing to do with science, we need to do with this idea what we need to do with everything that Obama wants to hurry with......FOLLOW THE MONEY!!
Who stands to profit and lose by this idiocy and why is this politician supporting them?

***Scientists are looking at underground fissures and caverns as places where carbon dioxide emissions captured from fossil fuel power plants can be stored***
The Bravo Dome in NE NM is already taken with NATURAL CO2!
For “carbon storage” there’s this wonderful, God-given technology known as plant life. For example, trees.
If only New Mexico had more rainfall, they could “install” (plant) millions more of these “carbon storage” systems, and do it above-ground, too!
This idea of trying to sequester carbon so that it is unavailable to living organisms sounds dangerous to me. Extremely dangerous.
Given that carbon dioxide levels have dropped drastically from thousands of ppm to 2 or 3 hundred ppm in the last few hundred thousand years, I’m concerned that the level of CO2 in the atmosphere is already nearing the lower limit of what plants can extract from the air.
Remove too much CO2 from the air, to below the concentration of what plants can extract, and plant life will die off until the CO2 reaches a higher concentration. Of course, with decreased plant life, not as much animal life can be supported.
When “global warming” was limited to the hysterical rantings of the far left, it was amusing. But now, “global warming” believers are starting to get dangerous. The idea of sequestering CO2 in an unusable form isn’t the only dangerous scheme, but it may be one of the most dangerous, if it can be acted upon.
Perhaps they could store carbon in Bill Richardson’s empty head.
PING! to the NM list.

I am confused~ don’t the NM laws about mineral rights cover what is under your land? My father had a ranch in Colorado that he sold in the 1960s and kept the mineral rights and the wording on his property description covered anything beneath the surface...
I am also confused about capturing carbon air or whatever?? Can we say scam~ though I would rather see a NM rancher get rich off of this than liberal politicians like Al Gore...
