Autopsy: Michigan imam suffered 21 gunshot wounds

DEARBORN, Mich. — An autopsy report shows that a Muslim prayer leader suffered 21 gunshot wounds during an FBI raid at a warehouse in a Detroit suburb where agents were attempting to arrest him.

The report released Monday by the Wayne County medical examiner's office indicates that Luqman Ameen Abdullah was shot once in the back.

Earlier Monday, Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad (huh-DAD') said it would take several more weeks for his department to complete its investigation into the Oct. 28 shooting.

Abdullah was described as a leader of a national radical Sunni group that wants to create an Islamic state within the U.S. His family has denied allegations that he was anti-government.

“21 shots with 40 S & W. The man was a real mess,” said Sheriff Art Funk of Dearborn County, “It was the most determined act of suicide I’ve seen in my 20 year career as Sheriff. Clearly, belief in Islam is dangerous to one’s mental health.”

I’d like to know the total number of shots fired by police against how many the Iman received.

There may be room for improvement on their skills.

I thought that was what they were investigating.

21 shots, and of those 21, there was only one (allegedly) that was in the back. Most likely either an error by the coroner, or he was spun around while being shot (and shooting at) by the FBI.

My best guess is that the media and CAIR will report the same one shot and ignore the other 20.

.....Abdullah refused to surrender, fired a weapon and was killed by gunfire from agents, FBI spokeswoman Sandra Berchtold said. In a court filing, the FBI said Abdullah, also known as Christopher Thomas, was an imam of a Black Muslim radical group named Ummah whose primary mission is to establish an Islamic state within the United States. No one was charged with terrorism. But Abdullah was "advocating and encouraging his followers to commit violent acts against the United States," FBI agent Gary Leone said in an affidavit. "He regularly preaches anti-government and anti-law enforcement rhetoric," Leone said. "Abdullah and his followers have trained regularly in the use of firearms, and continue to train in martial arts and sword fighting."
The group believes that a separate Islamic state in the U.S. would be controlled by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rap Brown, who is serving a life sentence in a federal prison in Colorado for shooting two police officers in Georgia in 2000, Leone said. Al-Amin, a veteran of the black power movement, started the group after he converted to Islam in prison.........
