And we can SURE as hell look for Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina and a host of other so-called “blues” turn red, come November.

Good grief. I wish you guys would quit hitting the bong so hard. Freepers should understand that anytime a poster talks about ‘bilderbergers’, ‘Bohemian Grove’, ‘Council Of Foreign Relations’ or ‘Trilateralists’, without joking about it, is someone who may be nuts, but certainly shouldn’t be taken seriously. All this crap about the parties being the same is meant to divide Conservatives, as anyone with a half a brain can see big differences in the parties. Just look at the budget that was released today. Republicans certainly spent too much, but at least they still behave like they love their country. Obama, in comparison looks like he’s trying to spend us into disaster. It is political suicide for Conservatives to be considering non-viable 3rd party options. We don’t have 20 years to build a party to stop the Marxists. We have revamp the Republican Party in our image ASAP, ala Reagan, if we are going to stop ObaMao and his Stalinist horde from ‘fundamentally’ changing America as we know it.

I think ‘Freepers’ that insist on 3rd parties and the usual laundry list of ‘hidden hands’ aren’t any better than left-wingers because these persons seek the demise of the only party structure that could elect Conservatives to office if utilized correctly.

Take away the mechanism and you take away victory. You guys aren’t adding anything to the discussion, you are clouding the conversation with divisive confusion and hyperbole. I think freepers that post this stuff are far-left trolls.

This has the very strong scent of BS.

And progressive liberal democrat fear.

In this case, their fears are justified. People out here in flyover country are frightened by what they see in Washington, and ANGRY that Washington refuses to listen to them.

I don’t mind being red. They can keep blue to themselves.

It can possibly be utilized correctly, but unfortunately, the party that potentially could elect true conservatives into office is subverted by RINOs and by the globalist elite CFR that controls it. Both Democrat and Republican parties are mere cat's paws.

Actually as I understand it, until the 2000 election the dinosaur networks routinely used red as the “out of power” party, while blue was in power.

It was pure coincidence, since Clinton, hence Dems were “in,” and the controversy that followed saw so much commentary on “the map” of the electoral college. GOP being red and Dems blue just kind of stuck in the national debate, and it’s still so today.

It was very clever of whomever decided that the Republicans would be commie/socialist “Red” and that the Dims would be All-American Blue.

Everyone in the world knows that red is the commie/socialist color.

The color black for death should be the Dims color. The commies and socialists are responsible for more death around the world than anyone.

I also recall that Republican electoral victories
were represented by blue and Democrats red as far
back as the ‘60s on network television. When it
changed I assumed it was because the Dems had whined
about having to wear the shoe that fit, the socialist
red shoe.

How about reclassification as 'black' and 'white' states, with 'black' representing DemospLabrats and 'white' representing Republicans?

Or am I just turning it into racism?

FWIW, Rhode Island is also the only state in the union with an out and out Catholic majority. Massholechusetts fluked with Scott Brown, but in normal years, they are hopeless, and have been since the Yankees lost power in the western and central part of the state to those they imported as cheap labor.

DC is a case of the obvious.

All through the time I was growing up, Republicans were usually blue, and Democrats were usually Red, up until the USA Today switched the colors with great fanfare a few elections ago.

Ever since, it’s been Red States vs. Blue States.

I blame USA Today.

I did not know it was USA Today that did the switch, but you are exactly correct. During the Reagan years, the states that voted for Reagan were BLUE and the RED (communist) color states were for DemoRATs. In fact I had a jpg U.S. map of Reagan's victory in 1984 in solid Blue.

My understanding is that the liberals & left-wing media realized that Red was the univeral color for communism (aka the Soviet Union, "Red" China, etc) and in 1992 in order to help sway the election for demoRAT Bill Clinton, the media just abruptly changed the color scheme so that voters would not associate "Red" color of communism with the demoRAT party. Too bad we did not have the internet & bloggers like we have today....hopefully we would have been able to thwart that devious switch from taking place. Maybe conservatives ought to just arbitrarily switch back to the traditional "Blue" for Repubs & "Red" for socialist-commie demoRATs and create a groundswell to make the media to follow suit.

Denial is a river that runs through D.C. This map makes no sense in light of the elections where libs lost BIG in 2009.

The colors are wrong but otherwise it seems correct. MA and RI are the rattiest state. Utah, Wyoming and Idaho the most Republican. In terms of potus voting and state leg composition at least.
