I think in OH Rob Portman is pretty good---not perfect, but pretty good and a huge improvement over Voino. In PA, Toomey is a geometric improvement over Sphincter (yes, I know, he's a Dem now).

I think what we really need to do is find hard-core economic Republicans for those regions where Republican Republicans don’t fly. It’s the social issues that are so variable across states, with economic flabbiness more or less supported simply because a vigorous case isn’t made for shrinking government. Right now we’ve got economically flabby, socially liberal Republicans in those ‘Blue States’ where we have representation at all, and that’s what’s so frustrating.
As compared to what? Scott Brown taking the Swimmer's seat away from the Dems? Brown had a pro-lifer opposing him in the primary, and the guy got 12 percent.
Castle is the best option to win the Delaware Senate seat. But some would throw that away, failing to heed Buckley's maxim that you run the most conservative candidate possible who can win in a given race.
At least the Republicans from conservative states should be conservative. I don’t really mind RINO’s from blue states as ‘icing on the cake’ when all the red states have their act together.
That may well be, but if that is the case, I'll take a Senate full of half-as-much Republicans in favor of one that is run by a bunch of phakin' commie democrats.
“I predict Scott Brown will turn out to be a “half as much” Pubbie. True, he may have stopped Obamanation’s socialist medicine plan, but there’s a lot more on the table than just that one issue.”
the ‘populist’ also ran against the bank tax and won. That’s what we need: people who are for free trade and against screwing banks but drive trucks and willing to shake hands with people in the cold.

Get ready to take lots of flak from the purists. The would rather have the Socialists run the country than allow one less-than-meeting-some-undefinable-Conservative-standard Republican in. And they did just that in 2008. I keep challenging them to explain to their children why we don’t have freedom anymore and how the Conservative Purity Test allowed that to happen.
As I repeat over and over: The perfect is the enemy of the good.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
The bonus is that the mouth-breathers like tingly Chrissy Mathews and Olberdork would go completely apoplectic.
Get rid of the RINOS and don’t elect any more.

I've heard it said "there are no perfect candidates". Well, if that's the mindset, then we can expect another batch of RINOs this November.

I’d rather have a ‘half-as-much’ socially moderate Republican who was fiscally conservative(fair Tax) and strong on national defense rather than a bible thumping conservative who spends our tax money like they are on a drunk weekend at Las Vegas.
5,4,3,2,1.....incoming
Yes, Red Dog - Me too. I think that is why we got thwacked in 2006... Although I would not use the term Bible-thumping myself. But my 1st choice in 2008 was Rudy Giuliani - because the War on Terror is my #1 issue - Survival first...
Senators like Hatch and Bennett in Utah.
Who can forget Orin Hatch giving his “good friend” Ted Kennedy’s eulogy for the whole world to see and hear?
There’s no doubt that Brown is a moderate to put it nicely. However I don’t think we could expect much more than that in a politically hard left state.
It was a gain of inches but touchdowns are coming as well as setbacks.
