Toyota checking 2010 Prius brakes; mum on recall (TOYOTA COMING CLEAN ON LIBERALMOBILE)

Toyota USA says it is evaluating brake problems with the 2010 Prius gas-electric hybrid, but no decision has been made about a recall.

Company spokesman Brian Lyons says it's too soon to talk about a recall. He says the automaker is cooperating fully with a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration probe into the brake troubles.

The government is investigating reports that antilock brakes can fail momentarily on some 2010 Prius models in slippery conditions or on rough roads.

The company says it made a change in the 2010 braking system last month to correct cars in production. The company has not made a decision about cars on the road.

The U.S. government says it has received 124 reports from consumers about the Prius brakes, including four reports of crashes.

Let’s not celebrate too much. This is about Obama and his goons destroying Toyota to get UAW thug into tranplant non-union plants in the USA.

I doubt Toyo’s problems are anywhere near what they are claiming in the media. This is a hatchet job with the message to: Honda, BMW, Porsche, Hyundai, Nisaan, Subuaru and others making vehicles in the USA - YOU WILL ALLOW THE UAM to organize and run your factories.

I would not be celebrating. The UAW knows Chrysler and GM are dead. They killed them. The UAW parasites need new hosts to suck their blood dry.

This is what REALLY is going on.

Wife drives a Prius...she’s a college perfessor too.

She’s also a staunch conservative and diehard Fox fan (with O’Reilly her favorite, and Hannity a close second).

Of course, when she wants some fun, she parks the rollerskate...and hops into my Mustang GT Convertible.

The Prius was just a logical choice gas-wise because she’s a “long distance” instructor and drives all over the state teaching grad students.

That’s the first thing I thought of when I heard the first stories about Toyota.

This is all about getting the UAW thugs into the non-union factories in the USA. BMW, TOyo, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, Porsche, etc etc. Hit the biggest (Toyota) one hard.

Where did you get the idea I was celebrating?

I agree with everything else you said though.

>I doubt Toyo’s problems are anywhere near what they are claiming in the media. This is a hatchet job with the message to: Honda, BMW, Porsche, Hyundai, Nisaan, Subuaru and others making vehicles in the USA - YOU WILL ALLOW THE UAM to organize and run your factories.<

I was also wondering why they were all over Toyota, the makers of the famed green vehicle. I knew there was some sort of nefarious angle to it.

Now it makes sense to me.

I LIKE TOYOTAS!!! /disclaimer

I posted yesterday that this is not a new problem. They have been “under investigation” since, at least, 2004.

Again, a disclaimer because I LIKE TOYOTAS!!! (they just haven’t been honest)

Sorry if I came off attacking - it was not my intention. I think a few people are gleeful about Toyota getting their brains beat out.

I am not a huge Toyo fan. I never there cars were that good but they are not death traps. This is all about power. Obama is making an example of them. He thinks the avg American will think well toyo took jobs from americans and hurt GM etc etc.

This is another attempted take over by UAW thug. The message is - you let UAW workers in non-union factories or you are next. We will sick the govt and trial lawyers on you. Obama is setting Toyo up like Clinton set up the ciggie companies to give billions to trial lawyers or Toyota will be destroyed. This is real facism on display.

I would love to see an annoucement by Toyota that placing bumper stickers on the Prius might disturb the sensitive balance of the vehicle which might lead to mechanical problems and void the warranty.

Yup this one is brillant.

1. You shake down Toyota for money.
2. You get UAW thugs into non-union factories or else.
3. Your trial lawyer friends sue Toyota and Toyo will settle for $300 million of which the plaintiffs will get 2%.
4. You scare all the other non-union car companies to unionize their factories.

Stop accepting Government Motors' premise that their biggest competitor has a safety issue. They don't. This is a manufactured controversy.

"....Sounds like a computer problem maybe caused by electromagnetic issues from all those batteries....."

Probably not. Batteries are direct current (DC) sources unlike AC sources which can cause electromagnetic issues.

Could be just a computer problem, plain and simple...

I have to agree with you here. My 95 Prizm is the Corolla clone, made in the USA alongside it’s Toyota cousin, and has been a very good car, with no eletronic BS happening to it. 97K miles and counting......Thank God I own a 15 year old car that is MINE (bought and paid for).

Go ahead and buy the new crap, I’ll take a “gently used” mid to late 90’s car any day, as long as it’s NOT made by GM, Chrysler or Ford.
