Peter Pan Obama slipping deeper into denial, proposes new federal agency for “Climate Service”?
The Collins Report ^ | February 9, 2010 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 02/09/2010 6:09:00 AM PST by jmaroneps37

When pressed to finally become an adult, Peter Pan answered: “I shall never grow up. Make believe is much too fun.”

These lines come to mind with the news that Barack Obama is establishing a new federal agency to support the sagging Climate Change hoax.

According to the AP, Gary Locke the Commerce Secretary and Jane Lubcheno of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “planned to announce [yesterday] that NOAA will set up the new Climate Service to operate in tandem with NOAA’s National Weather Service and National Ocean Service.”

Considering that this is the same National Weather Service and National Ocean Service that couldn’t settle on predicting whether Washington DC would get 12 inches or 24 inches of snow just twenty four hours before hand, having these people takeover even more of our lives is not a comforting thought.

“The question is settled”

The damage this bunch will likely do grows still larger considering that NOAA is using flawed data to insist that the last two decades were the “hottest on record.”

The AP had no curiosity about how much this new agency would cost, but it’s a sure bet it will be millions and a better bet our tax money will be wasted on this foolishness.

What this agency might do to refurbish the discredited arguments of Al Gore the United Nations is anyone’s guess. Nevertheless, the intrepid Obama soldiers on.

Mounting evidence proving man made climate change is a hoax means nothing to these frauds that we’re told to believe. Obama has joined them digging in his heels and insisting all of these lies are true.

Obama doesn’t want to ever grow up because he lives in his own Never Land where the Green Meanies despoil the environment with their SUVs and backyard bar b ques.

The announcement had to be done by tele-conference. Because of all the "global warming" in the streets of Washington they couldn't do it in person. But of course Obama HAD to go ahead with it. Aint that rich?

News of the Day:

Obama Hits Lowest Approval Mark - February 8, 2010

Independent voters see Pres. Obama in a negative light by a nearly 2-1 margin, according to a new Marist College survey, while almost half of voters say he has failed to meet their expectations.

The poll, conducted Feb. 1-3, showed just 44% of registered voters approving of Obama’s job as president. 47% disapprove. But among indie voters, Obama’s approval rating sits at a terrible 29%, while his disapproval rating is at 57%.

Obama’s 44% job approval rating is the lowest he has scored in any non-internet poll since moving into the WH, according to a review of data compiled by Pollster.com.

And while GOPers strive to avoid attacking Obama personally, for fear of offending voters who see him in a favorable light personally, even that aura of invincibility is wearing off. Independent voters view Obama negatively, too, by a 39% favorable to 52% unfavorable margin. All registered voters still see Obama favorably by a 50%-44% margin, but that’s down 5 points in just 2 months.

Voters are disappointed in what they got with Obama’s first year. The poll shows 47% believe Obama has failed to meet their expectations — including a quarter of Dems, 65% of GOPers and 53% of indie voters — while just 42% say he has met their expectations. 38% say Obama’s policies are moving the country in the wrong direction, while 37% say they’re making the country better.

If this weren't the truth it would make a good Mel Brooks sketch. Why isn't the MSM calling the kenyan out on this?

Did anyone see Miracle, the 80’s movie with Kurt Russell where the Russian hockey team loses in the Olympics to the Americans?

It’s sort of approppriate - obama is the new Carter, and the Winter Olympics are here.

At the end of the game, the Russian coach is standing and yelling, and the American Herb Brooks, turns toward his assistant and cries, in astonishment, “He doesn’t know what to do!” - when it is so clear everyone else knows. And it is because the coach is out of his depth.

I think I’ll go out and dump a quart of oil or two onto my lawn that drains into the cheseapeake to celebrate this new agency. That is, if I can get through the approx 30” of snow left from recent “climate change”. Oh, yes, algore still hasn’t shoveled my drive.

zer0 said over and over that he wanted to restore “science” to its rightful place.

Clearly he means that science’s rightful place is a pool of corruption in blind subservience to his marxist agenda.

On Fox & Friends this morning they said this agency had been in the works for a couple of years, as if Bush started the idea. Does anyone know?

By the way, guys, I'd appreciate it if some good Freepers could join me in prayer today for my Mom. She's got a resilient case of C diff, and the Vanco is not working. We want to change hospitals, maybe try a different doctor, but with the huge snowstorm coming up north we are afraid to take her from her usual one, who at least we know cares. And my Dad is in ICU this am. So we could really use some prayer.

I know it's off the subject, but I hate to post vanities. Thanks so much. It's really a deadly situation - we can't make any mistakes.

Wouldn't doubt it. Look who Bush surrounded himself with over the last couple of years of his presidency (Paulson, Gates, etc.) and how he began to behave (TARP, huge spending, amnesty for illegals, etc.).

We’re supposed to get a foot of snow here in NY tonight. When Gore is done with yours could you ask him to bring his solar powered snow blower to my place?

There’s too much money at stake for the powers behind the throne to allow zero to stop pimping this. It’s just another way to get more money out of our hands into theirs.

I read a very informative article that the cap and trade baloney started with Enron and they lobbied for it until it took hold. Fitting isn’t it?

New U.S. climate service aims to help business adapt
Tue Feb 9, 2010 2:07am IST

By Deborah Zabarenko, Environment Correspondent

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A proposed new U.S. government climate information service is meant to help businesses adapt to the impact of climate change and spur new technologies to cope with it, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke on Monday.

“Even with our best efforts, we know that some degree of climate change is inevitable and American citizens and businesses, and American governments ... must be able to rise to environmental and economic challenges that lie ahead,” Locke told reporters in announcing the move.

He said new private industries could develop from information generated by the new service, just as industries based on data from the National Weather Service and U.S. Census Bureau have done.

In addition to dealing with climate change, Locke said, “In the process, we’ll discover new technologies, build new businesses and create new jobs.”

The new service — its website is www.climate.gov — means a reorganization at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which is part of the Commerce Department and includes the National Weather Service.

NOAA already offers data to businesses ranging from agriculture and energy to fisheries and transportation, as well as to the billion-dollar weather-forecasting industry, Locke said. But information about climate change is scattered across the agency.

Locke said concentrating NOAA’s expertise and information on climate change in one place would help these industries and others including renewable energy like wind power, infrastructure and architecture planning and disease prevention and control.
