Poll: 71% say Palin's unqualified to be president By Eric Zimmermann - 02/11/10 11:45 AM ET

Almost three quarters of Americans, including half of Republicans, think Sarah Palin is not qualified to serve as president, according to a new Washington Post/ABC poll.

The poll also found Palin's approval rating at a new low, with just 37% holding a favorable opinion of her. Meanwhile, 55% of respondents have an unfavorable opinion of the former Alaska Governor.

A full 71% of respodnents, including 51% of Republcians, say Palin is not ready to occupy the White House. Palin has said it would be "absurd not to consider" a 2012 bid against President Obama.

Exactly two-thirds of independents say Palin's not qualified, along with an overhwelming 91% of Democrats.

Meanwhile, the Tea Party movement receives tepid approval from the public. 35% have a favorable view of the movement, with 40% holding an unfavorable view. A slim plurality, 45%-36%, say they agree at least somewhat with the Tea Party's positions.

Compare her experience to Obama’s. The MSM had no problem trumpeting Obama when his experience was not even a single term in the US Senate, only a mediocre state legislator and a community organizer for ACORN.

Just because she is more qualified than “the One” doesn’t make her qualified.

She might be ok as a judge on Amewrican Idol, but not POTUS.

"She’s nice, and she’s constitutionally qualified, but is she really the best that’s out there?"

Compared to the rest of the potential field of candidates....yes. Take the time to actually look up her record. She accomplished more in less time than any other governor I know of. Jindal (with whom I am more familiar) has probably done as much in his political career, but that has been a lot longer than Palins.

After Obama, I’d think that the job “is so easy a caveman” can do it. Palin has a ton more experience than the Zero has and is much more qualified for the job.

I’d like to see her keep doing what she’s doing for now. When the White House feels like they have to come out and mock her, she’s doing a heckuva good thing for America by distracting them. I don’t know who I want to be President in 2013 but right now I think focusing on Congress is way more important.

I’d expect close to 80% of the Inside the Beltway crowd have absolutely no interest whatsoever of anybody in Flyover Country snooping around in DC.....too much garbage under the rugs...skeletons in the closets...

This hardly qualifies as news....except to document that very fact.

A more interesing poll would be to find out how many Americans think that Obama is unqualified to be president.

I don’t believe it. Otherwise the media would not be pooing their pants with the prospect of her being president.

"These are the same folks who just released a poll that says 60%+ of the American people favor health care reform."

This poll didn't claim that. A clear majority of those polled said "no thanks" to Obamacare. The poll also indicated that they want terrorist tried in military courts, not civilian courts.

I can “guarantee” her learning curve would be no where near as long and as painful as Obama’s!

Gee she seems more qualified than the closet Muslim Marxist bowing machine we have in the W/hite House now.

Plus she is a natural born citizen.

Something the present occupant of the Oval Office can never be.

"Almost three quarters of Americans, including half of Republicans, think Sarah Palin is not qualified to serve as president, according to a new Washington Post/ABC poll. "

So out of their 100 readers remaining, 70 in the Washington area believe this...figures.

So where was the WAPO poll asking whether Obama was qualified in 2008?

Palin is MORE qualified and experienced than what is POTUS today!

Please show me where I said Palin is qualified to be POTUS!

Just shows that the MSM still has a lot of power. Repeat a lie often enough and the rubes will believe it. Goebbels and Stalin knew this well.

gov Reagan
gov Carter
gov Clinton
why not
gov Palin

but I would like to see her as a superstar in the next Republican admin. first, then president after that. She’s young enough, no rush.
