Poll: 71% say Palin's unqualified to be president By Eric Zimmermann - 02/11/10 11:45 AM ET
Almost three quarters of Americans, including half of Republicans, think Sarah Palin is not qualified to serve as president, according to a new Washington Post/ABC poll.
The poll also found Palin's approval rating at a new low, with just 37% holding a favorable opinion of her. Meanwhile, 55% of respondents have an unfavorable opinion of the former Alaska Governor.
A full 71% of respodnents, including 51% of Republcians, say Palin is not ready to occupy the White House. Palin has said it would be "absurd not to consider" a 2012 bid against President Obama.
Exactly two-thirds of independents say Palin's not qualified, along with an overhwelming 91% of Democrats.
Meanwhile, the Tea Party movement receives tepid approval from the public. 35% have a favorable view of the movement, with 40% holding an unfavorable view. A slim plurality, 45%-36%, say they agree at least somewhat with the Tea Party's positions.
You wish.
So 99% think Obama is unqualifed to be POTUS, right?
Whatever.
I sure didn’t understand the resignation, especially from a political perspective, I don’t think it will serve her well in the future (couldn’t stand the heat got out of the kitchen...is how it’ll be “sold.”) But the ultimate “turn off” for me is the political posturing by supporting McCain. If you’re going to be a conservative and have the press beat you up for that reason, more power to you, but if you’re going to say you’re a conservative, and then do things that are contradictory to that stance (i.e. supporting McCain), then that’s another story.
Not Obama either...
Not saying Palin wouldn’t be good, just saying she can’t win - big difference.
I’m leaning towards Sen. Jim DeMint at the moment...FWIW.
Fine. If that’s the case, let it work out in the primaries.
But if she is voted for, let’s back her all the way!
Palin is doing little more now than saying clever things and making generalities. She must becom more serious. It pained me when she made the remark about how’s the ‘hopey changey thing coming along’. She won’t get ahead by making crowd-titillating speeches. She won’t get ahead by coming on fast-talk shows like Hannity where the two take shots at the administration, agree with each other, and try to be amusing. We’ll see whether she knows these things.
The studio Fox is building for in Alaska worries me. Overexposure? Every 5-minute offering expected to be provocative?
Love it! Thanks!

The purpose of the “polls” is to target those who prefer Sarah but need to be convinced that she can’t win, so they need to jump on the Romney bandwagon. The problem is that there is no Romney bandwagon. The reason is that only Sarah Palin is taking any public position on Obama’s administration. She is the only one that has the ear of the people. Have we noticed that when she says something, it often gets reacted to and even sometimes corrected.
Let’s remember who spoke out about “death panels” and really got the opposition to government health care focused. She is the only one who can explain complex matters in terms that most people can understand. “Death panels”, “Snake-Oil Science”, “Professor” come to mind. She is the only one drawing huge crowds to speeches and appearances. She is the one that gets invited to the Tea Party Nation Convention which indicates that she is the one most in tune with the political wave that will take the Republicans to victory.
But maybe Republicans don’t want victory. Maybe they will ignore the base of the party and select another RINO that has no appeal to draw voters to the polls. They will if they let themselves be fooled by silly polls.
So, the poll is equally inaccurate on the other issues polled? Using your logic then, I guess the public is actually for Obamacare, because this poll clearly states that they aren't. The Public is for trying terrorist in civilian court, because this poll clearly states that they aren't. The public doesn't think that the government wastes money, because this poll clearly states that they do.
If the poll is right on those other issues, I have no reason to believe it's not right on Palin. Maybe it's not quite 70% of the population (maybe it is), but it's clear that an overwhelming majority of American don't want her to be President, or think that she's qualified for the job. That's the political reality.
Bullsh!t!

They can generate all the fake polls they want, and the facts of their fear just become more and more obvious.
The liars, cheats, and thieves depend on continued growth of government corruption for their continued existence. They need people like McCain, Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Fwank, Dodd, etc., to keep their gravy train of corruption going.
It doesn't have to be Sarah. It could be Farmer Brown, or Joe the Plumber; but anyone talking about bringing common sense to DC is going to suffer the same attacks.
For someone who has little support they sure spend a lot of time slimming her. I think they are showing just how believable this poll is!!
And the one that says the majority of Americans want homosexuals serving in the military.
Thanks for your opinion but I’ll stick with Sarah.
Romney? Romney's name isn't even mentioned ANYWHERE in the poll. Did you read it?
There are PLENTY of other people to look at besides Romney - people who are comfortable orthodox conservatives.
LLS
Now that is AWESOME!!!
I am not going to worry about it until she says she is running. Right now she’s just shaking things up and she is doing it quite well.
That's just what "push polling" is; a Delphi Method of campaigning.
