JERUSALEM (AP) - Palestinian protesters have added a colorful twist to demonstrations against Israel's separation barrier, painting themselves blue and posing as characters from the hit film "Avatar."
The demonstrators also donned long hair and loincloths Friday for the weekly protest against the barrier near the village of Bilin.
They equated their struggle to the intergalactic one portrayed in the film.
Israel says the barrier is needed for its security. Palestinians consider it a land grab.
The protests have become a symbol of opposition. They often end in clashes with Israeli security forces involving stones and tear gas.

Ok,, normally hate these pricks. And havent seen the movie,,, But this is downright funny. And actually way smarter from a PR point of view than suicide bombers.

In the movie, Pandora orbits Alpha Centauri, the closest star to the Sun at 4.4 light years.
It's not "intergalactic" which would mean located in another galaxy. The closest one, Andromeda is 2,500,000 light years distant from us.
Sheesh.

And besides, those costumes are really lame.
I believe the Romans had to struggle with civilizing some of the painted folks in Germania. History will have to be the judge whether or not the effort succeeded.
They already live in a fantasy world where Hamas loves them and the Joooos are trying to exterminate them for land.

I must have been sleeping during that part of Avatar where the Na’vi send their children to Earth to blow themselves up and kill innocent people.

True it is for publicity, but it is always important to remember who these people really are.
When people speak of the poor little Palestinians, when yuppies sip lattes and talk of the plight of Palestine, they are supporting fanatic cold-blooded murderers.
These guys, cute or not, oppressed or not, kill anyone with no remorse. Women, children, neighbors, their own daughter or son or wife, even themselves, it does not matter to them who they are killing, as long as they are killing.
And oh so intellectual and compassionate latte sipping yuppies would be the first on their list, sweater and all.
