Foreign Demand for US Treasurys Takes Record Fall
CNBC ^ | 2/16/2010 | Staff

The government said Tuesday that foreign demand for U.S. Treasury securities fell by the largest amount on record in December with China reducing its holdings by $34.2 billion.

The reductions in holdings, if they continue, could force the government to make higher interest payments at a time that it is running record federal deficits.

The Treasury Department reported that foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury securities fell by $53 billion in December, surpassing the previous record of a $44.5 billion drop in April 2009.

Can you say “Stagflation?”

I knew you could.

What about all the green shoots?

We are told by the man-child in the WH that we desperately need another Stimulus (relabeled a Jobs bill) before green shoots will appear. Why does anyone listen to the Liar In Chief?

Not sure about that, but I **think** you want to store it at cooler temps.

This is a pretty good site for such questions:

The only place you will find Jubilee is in the old testament.

We are facing “the last days” or “end times” and it looks like we won’t be able to stop it.

If you think this is going to be a good ending for any American, you are fooling yourself.

They bought about 22 drums from us. I think they have other suppliers. I emailed the owner because when I saw his company name on the PO I googled it. I told him I loved his site. I even bookmarked it. The food is expensive. I will have to convince my husband about this or I can order behind his back for now.

I have friends in South America and they wonder why the United States was “estupido” to elect 0bama. They are very nervous. One even commented that the rest of the world is going to miss the USA because they were in deep trouble without the United States.

WHile the site is dated (Y2K) the data apperas to be good

http://www.y2knorth.com/PREP/SHLFLIFE.HTM

And spend some time at Walton Food dot com AKA Rainy Day Foods- the site has a lot of good data on long term storage. I used to carry this product in the late 70s, so these folks have been around nearly forever, dealing in bulk food goods.

It is good to ask about shelf life.

Also, the pouches of frezze dried food you see for sale (say, at Sams or Wally World) have a shelf life of no more than 5 years - so always check the pack date.

- when it happens can’t be any way unexpected, BUT...

- may be a small demonstration project of the ChiComs after statements earlier in the week, AND...

- no matter how badly we screw the pooch here, Europe always seems to be worse...so where else will the money go?

Compared to the majority of the envy-driven, green-obsessed, socialist fools on the international scene, your friends are very wise.

I have a source for getting food grade 5 gallon pails, but is there some way I can vacuum pack the bulk food I store in them without having to vacuum pack the food in bags first before storing it in the bucket?

Guess who will be left without one when the music stops:

Actually the way this works is that the Fed can "buy" as much of this stuff as it wants to by just turning the crank. Doing so diminishes the size of the chair, and also the value of those remaining stashes of notes.

My pails were factor sealed back in 1999 (for y2k). I keep them not being sure whether the contents are of any value anymore. Got maybe 8 of them still.

Don’t have the $$$ now to buy anymore.

Careful Bro, things are never as good or as bad as people think at the time.

The ChiComs are not stupid, and Bernanke will purchase the debt notes, but sooner or later inflation will hit like a ton ‘o bricks.
