Virginia Pastors Want Planned Parenthood Defunded

"Today, this African American pastor is declaring war against Planned Parenthood," said the Rev. Joe Ellison, vice president of the Council on Biblical Principles. Ellison acknowledged paying for girlfriends to have abortions while he was in college and the shame he feels because of it.

"We're asking pastors to shut them down in the community. We're asking pastors to pray them out, and we're asking Planned Parenthood to leave our children alone."

The pastors accused the organization's founder, the late Margaret Sanger, of setting up birth control clinics in black neighborhoods in an attempt to eradicate minorities. Sanger supported the now-disdained theory of eugenics to discourage reproduction by people deemed unfit and spoke at some Ku Klux Klan meetings. But Sanger scholars dispute whether she supported eugenics based solely on race.

The pastors cited an often-published excerpt from one of Sanger's essays in 1939 on the need to enlist black church leaders in supporting birth control: "We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

"Margaret Sanger's statements on eugenics nearly a century ago do not represent the values of Planned Parenthood today," said Honke, who recited Planned Parenthood's mission to "provide preventive health care to everyone - in every community - regardless of their race, ethnicity, sex, religion, sexual orientation, or ability to pay."

Marshall said he wanted Virginia, home to founding fathers and the nation's colonial beginnings, to lead the way in rejecting Planned Parenthood.

"If this state with its history says no to Planned Parenthood, that's a lot more than a half-million dollars worth of damage to them," he said.

Perhaps a bit more anger ought to be targeted at the parties who are getting their children pregnant.

According to former Dallas, Texas abortion clinic director Carole Everett in her book, Blood Money: Making Money Off a Woman's Right to Choose, Planned Parenthood is responsible for getting teenage girls pregnant by convincing school districts to let them into the classrooms to get the girls to come in for contraceptives. Ms. Everett said the abortion clinic representatives would go back to their offices and wait for the phone to ring. The girls would always then become sexually active yet wouldn't take the prescribed contraceptives. She kept a Bible in her desk, convinced she was doing the "Lord's work." Of course, she sees things quite differently now that she's born again.

Reality check: Most black girls who get pregnant while still school age learned promiscuity and child-bearing-without-financial responsibility AT HOME. By the time they hit puberty, many of them have lost count of how many mom’s-boyfriends have lived with them for short stints. Some have already been molested by one or more of mom’s boyfriends. Sometimes with mom’s knowledge. The schools are just reacting to this social decay, and are having little effect, since years of experience on the home front carries a lot more weight.

Carol Everett also tells how the abortion clinics used to test women and then tell them they were pregnant, and sell them abortions evn though many times they were not pregnant at all.

"Pro choicers" perfectly happy to bitch up a young woman's mind and body for a few hundred bucks.

The so-called “anti-descrimination” bill to protect gays has provisions that give the government the power (think Kevin Jennings) to mandate sex-ed (think Fisting & all that “dont tell your parents” stuff) in elementary classes

You’re exactly right about that. Moral development first begins at home. That’s a given. Planned Parenthood is only partially responsible. Undoubtedly, they prey on weak girls during a very vulnerable time.

Planned Parenthood’s activities, like the schools’ activities, are a reaction to the prevalence of this lifestyle among girls. If Planned Parenthood or the schools were having much impact, the girls would at the very least be using the contraceptives and not getting pregnant. But getting pregnant as an unemployable, non-high school graduate teenager doesn’t seem so bad to girls who are themselves the products of such pregnancies (and of the taxpayer-funded welfare subsidies that enable this lifestyle).

If a cause could trace itself back to Adolph Hitler, lefties would not touch it with an eleven foot pole.

But Maggie Sanger is A-OK for some reason and they think she needs no apologies. She had no gas chambers, ‘tis true. But she had her eugenics which had the same end.

Your points are making the local airwaves this morning. It’s surprising to hear the truth about Margaret Sanger making both the print news and secular radio.

Hitler was definitely involved.
