That BCE business is like nails on a chalkboard.

Then don’t read the article.

Oh the article is very interesting, it’s just the PCish date change is sorta lame.
To: discomatic
Hmm, Hebrew University does the compromise thing and uses “BCE” ~ so what is it you people really want? /s

Would you be happier if the Jewish archaeologist had used the Hebrew calender instead?

I agree. Chalk board.
Still, I don’t blame an avowedly Hebrew University for using BCE: they’re different from pushy atheists.

What’s so common about the Common Era? Doesn’t adding the E to BC make for expelling 50% more CO2 just to pronounce it?
To: SJackson
I'm trying to understand where this is:
Is the plaza with the railing part of the Ir David Visitor Center Entrance Area? I just don't picture it that close to Al Aqsa.

Fascinating, thanks. I have a really stupid question, this is so deep underground, does a place of habitation like this get filled in by nature or by man?

I believe both in this case. They’ve been recovering artifacts from this site.

It is also quite stupid...it describes the same timeline as BC. BCE (before common era) just tries to take the relevant part out and ignore it without taking out the dates...quite stupid, or is it just evil? Yes, I think it is evil. They have not done the same for the Roman era, or Greek era or any other era that I am aware of...but they did remove Christ by removing BC/AD. So, that does qualify as evil.

I think man primarily. People just build a new building on top of the old building, and the old building/ basement becomes the garbage tip.

So much for the atheist speculation about the “mythology” of the Bible. No. Ezra didn’t make it up.
