Meet kinder, gentler Glenn Beck: New 'global warming' believer
WorldNetDaily ^ | 2/23/10 | MediaMatters

While polls show more people drifting away from acceptance of "global warming," the newest superstar among conservatives – Glenn Beck – is embracing it.

"You'd be an idiot not to notice the temperature change," he says.

He also thinks it could be caused partly by man's activity.

At home, he's going green by using energy-saving products.

"I'm willing to do anything but use the CFLs," he says of compact fluorescent light bulbs. "I put them in once and couldn't stand the way they lit up the room."

The kinder, gentler, greener and warmer side of Beck, known as a firebrand conservative, came to light in an interview in USA Weekend.

Beck also has lots of friends on the other side of the political spectrum, he reveals. He calls George Clooney "a good, honest man." Beck says the two of them had an extended conversation about the genocide in Darfur.

"We came to an immediate, completely wholehearted agreement about the situation," Beck says. "That is, to put aside the politics and give troops what they need to protect people over there. He's a good, honest man who believes passionately about doing something about it."

Beck's personal publicist, Matt Hiltzik, is a Democratic power player who helped get Hillary Rodham Clinton elected to the U.S. Senate, says the magazine report.

"I sure hope I never get that way."

Then keep your eyes closed like they have been so far, and above all, don't get any more mature, and you'll do fine!

You have to be kidding me, that link was posted Saturday, January 30, 2010, Glenn has been talking about this since last year.

Nice try, hon.

Furthermore, this blogger that you are using is using sources without recognition too.

Citing that socialist go after children is nothing new.

It was Hitler who said "give me the children and I'll rule the world"

Having video's of it on the Internet is the only thing that is new.

My friend you failed to respond to the questions I raised about Beck not being very wise by even allowing the interview.

Don’t get me wrong, I have never been a big fan of Beck, although most of my views if him comes from my gut check feeling.

Also I know Farah gets attacked by non Christians and as you know I am a Christian who defends my brothers. But I have seen WND make claims before that made me scratch my head. Although I think that is more of a problem of individuals who write for WND, and not so much a Joseph Farah problem.

My whole point is that when it comes to Beck, I just don’t know, but I need to know. Thus my statement I made when I pigged my list,

“Interesting hit peice on Glen Beck by WND. Is it true, is Beck moving to the left?”?

That being said, as of late he has really been stumbling quite a bit. Usually that only happens when the things you preach are not in your heart. So if they are not in his heart, what is?

??? Was this sarcasm? If not, I guess you would rather everyone let falsehoods go since saying something is false is ‘thus proving that it is true’ Palin must be an outright idiot considering her interview with Gibson/Couric. You know, it was portrayed that way through an interview so it is true. /s

No No No....

We have ALL been talking about this since last year. This is no surprise.

But Pamela Geller was the only one who had the definitive documents from the classroom and the parent willing to give out his name. He used HER documents, delivered snail mail to her ON HIS SHOW. Without attribution. I don’t give a shit if he was talking about it since 1964, chief, but the fact of the matter is that someone else had the story, the proof, and the graphics and he claimed it for himself. That doesn’t bother you?

You can’t be serious. He presented the story, the proof and graphics as his own. Really, you’re okay with that?

I have never heard Glenn say that the Republican Party is an "unacceptable choice". I have heard him say many times that Republicans are guilty of supporting some of the same destructive, Progressive policies as the Democrats. I have heard him castigate some leaders of the Republican Party for acting like Democrats. I have heard him plead with Republicans to adhere to principled, conservative ideas and to abandon Progressivism. But I have never heard Glenn Beck say that the Republican Party is no different than the Democrat Party or call for voters to abandon it.

Instead, he's pushing them to stand up for principle, rather than abandon it the way they have so often in recent years. I guarantee you that Glenn will support the Republican Party's congressional efforts this fall and its Presidential nominee in 2012 (unless it's John McCain, and that ain't happening, Lord help us...)

You're welcome. I'll bet this'll get a few WTH responses from people just tuning in to the thread now. :)

Palin was blindsided with help from McCains campaign staffers.

Glen Beck knew what was coming and he still allowed it to happen. Beck is his own staffer, so why if conservative views are so engraved in his heart did he allow the interview to twist him?

My view is that No conservative needs the MSM to get their message out. Let the MSM dies they are not needed.

A lot of people here love to swoon over their current “star,” particularly if that star is a non-Christian, like Beck, and ignore all the tell-tails that keep popping up in their presentations.

There are so many of these bloopers with Beck that I find it difficult to see his supporters here as anything but shills, of which we have a considerable number.

The fact that he swipes articles from bloggers and throws them out there like they were his own ‘brilliance’ is a huge warning sign that he is some day going to blow up like an Islamist bomber. Sometime soon, to be sure.

The stuff is not coming from his heart.

I would trust what I see Glenn say on his TV program more than I would trust a line from a USA Weekend article.

And has said over and over and OVER AGAIN on radio -- this is bunk, people buying the tripe are the same ones who glommed on to the admittedly-made-up baloney about the rape charge.

Beck's is exactly what you see. A dumbazz.

Oh Really?
He's either way too dumb for you, or way too smart.
Although I know what the answer is, I'll just let readers decide for themselves.

What is your opinion about James Hansen?
Also Phil Jones?
And then there's the biggie...
Dr Rajendra Pachauri?

There are dumazzes all over the place. Their calling card is usually an overblown sense of the importance of their opinion, their ignorance and, above all else, their empty resort to name-calling.

Familiarity with facts, and the ability to debate them is actually a good thing.

The stuff is not coming from his heart.

I agree that it definitely does not seem to be in his heart as it is for 99% conservatives I know. If it were, like I said earlier, he would not be making the kind of missteps he has as of late.

The shooting star that is Glen Beck, does seem to be losing it's gas. At this rate he will be a cold dead planet like many other shooting stars from the past. Do you remember Ken Hamlin? He was big in the mid "90"s, but then hit the wall when he refused to back Dole only because Dole would not go on his show.

Say what you want about the country blood republicans who thought is was Doles turn and that is why he was the nominee, Hamlin's star pretty much fizzled after that.

BS, that was all over the Internet.

Until today I've never even heard of Pamela Geller and was fully aware of everything in the link you sent.

If we all had to cite sources for everything we utter we'd never get anything said.

It does a lot of harm to our cause when we bash those who are getting out truths that no one else is, and Gelnn is doing that. Maybe you already know the history but many do not.

This particular political climate has aroused a lot of interest in people who would normally be agnostic. How many lurkers do you think might come here, newly exposed to people like Glenn or Rush to see what people who are avid followers have to say about them?

WE need to attract all we can and not turn them off to people like Glenn, he's getting a lot of information out that needs to be heard.

Hell if we're bashing them they'll tune them out, it does a great disservice to our cause.

Disagreeing and having discussions about it are what this forum is for, eating our own for whatever inane reason is why we are known for snatching defeat from the jaw of victory.

Ron, I see so many FReepers posting this same criticism, Glenn's only out for ratings, sell a book, etc., etc., they follow this with the "That's it for me" or such, many claim they hold true to Rush. Do none of them recall those precise charges when Rush was first on the national scene from Sacramento? When he was selling his first book? (That he didn't actually write himself, that was a big hit from the lefties) When he had his TV show?? Are memories truly this short?

I laugh out loud at those here who are calling Beck fans "robots" or some other similar moniker, do you know how many times I STILL have to explain ditto-heads are not people who just follow Rush blindly, he coined "mind-numbed robots" specifically because of that? The problem the folks here seems to have is that Glenn is not a party-hack, and figures that if you're going to fix the problems inside the party that claims to embrace conservatism, you'd better start with admitting what the problem is, recognize those in the party suffering from it.

“Palin was blindsided with help from McCains campaign staffers.”

I know that and according to your own words you would also say if Palin’s conservative views are so engraved in her heart, why did she allow the interview to twist her?

Ya, and this isn't the first time this accusation has been thrown out and debunked. I wish people would research a little before knee jerk reaction posts!

Well, it does give the trolls the opportunity to earn their paycheck.

What surprises me is the number of sleepers in FR from way back.
2000?
1997?

When they start coming out of the woodwork, we know something is afoot. And it's not good for the "pregressive," ACORN, SEIU types.
