If your father was dying, would your first instinct be to turn it into a political issue. Exactly! That should be a private matter not suitable for television commentary.
That conversation takes place every freaking day across this country. People don't need Keith Olbermann (or the government) to lecture (or guide) them about their choices. That's what doctors are for.
Maybe Keith should be discussing this with his father's doctor instead of his viewers (what few there are). That is unless he is lying.

But I thought Olbermann didn’t like the current bill (whatever it is) because it would force him to buy insurance and he is currently self-insured and wants to keep it that way. He said he’d go to jail before participating in it. heh.

If you were Olbermann’s father would you want to live?

"If your father was dying, would your first instinct be to turn it into a political issue. "This puke seems to have almost enough moral standards to be nominated "Honorary Lawyer" AND a Nobel Prize candidate as well.

I understand the pain of losing a parent. I'm not sure I understand the need for an overpaid loser lashing out on TV about how everyone else should pay money to ease his personal pain. His dad's meds need to be adjusted. He should be demanding that instead of making the entire country part of the misery. It can be done.
Olbermann decided to make it about him. That's what liberals do. It's gross.

“Keith Olbermann wants the full fledged Palinian death panel. He wants something to take the responsibility off of his shoulders.”
Oh, I think it is more than that. He wants others to help pay for such counseling because they then are also culpable, or, to put it in his terms, then they will validate my desire to off him and relieve me of the guilt I feel for thinking the way I do.
Ask yourself, why to the so many congressional dems and their strongest core supporters want not only abortion to be legal, but for the public at large to pay for it? Same reason.

True, it adds more. Michael Schaivo was satisfied with Greer “only” granting his request to starve his wife to death. Olbermann has even less guts.

He should be demanding that instead of making the entire country part of the misery.
You know what? Even though he's one of the world's WORST liberals, if he'd come on air and said something like, "Hey, I'm going through a really tough time right now, my dad is terminal, we're between a rock and a hard place and have to make some very difficult decisions on future treatment options, so could you all out there say a prayer or have good thoughts going up for me and my dad? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks."
I would have been the first to come on FR and start a prayer request thread for him, DESPITE his liberalness.
But no, the bonehead comes out attacking the Tea Party supporters and Sarah Palin and everyone else who thinks 180 degrees opposed to him and blames US for his situation--some of that I will write off to stress/grief/etc. from the situation, but the majority of that is simply infamous liberal intolerance. As long as you think/believe/act like THEY say you must behave (while proclaiming 'individualism' the whole while) things are happy-go-lucky. But if you ARE an individualist who speaks up your opinion/mind/concerns about the rapid un-Constitutional growth of tax and spend as rapidly as possible government, then it's all your fault KO's dad is dying. < rolls eyeballs >

I lost my dad in November 2006 to a motorcycle accident. Before that I lost my grandmother (Paternal) in November 2005, and my other grandmother in April 2006. Since then I lost an Uncle (November 2008) and my father-in-law (Dec 2009). I have nothing but contempt for Olbermann.

Glad there’s a thread. I SAW this last night.
I was thinking the whole time, “Is he honestly turning this into a twisted political rant?”
Basically, what’s happening to his dad sounds like what happened to mine.
His dad is in a coma and not awake and is fighting an infection of some sort.
My father DIED from that.
Under NO circumstances, when it was happening, would I have been ANYPLACE except at my father’s bedside?
Keith was using a tragedy to advance disjointed logic about the right to have an end-of-life care conversation with your loved ones. I agree that you should have an end of life care conversation with your loved ones...no one’s stopping ANYONE from doing that. It’s still going to depend on what happens and what the doctors say.
Then he made some unbalanced rant about today’s meeting.
It was WEIRD TV.
