The GOP needs to be a “No Troofers Need Apply” zone.
If you’re dumb enough to believe the 9-11 Troofer mythology, then you’re too dumb to deserve to be in office.
Candidates share a table - but not much else - at Houston fundraiser
By Corrie MacLaggan AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF
Updated: 5:37 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010HOUSTON When GOP gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina said on Wednesday evening that Gov. "Rick Perry is leading Texas all right - right into a ditch" - the object of her criticism was sitting directly below the podium where she stood.
Six days before Tuesday's primary, the three GOP candidates for governor made a rare joint appearance, sharing a table at the Harris County GOP's Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner - a table long enough for the opponents not to have to sit next to each other.
So just as Perry was on hand to hear a barb Medina has thrown before, he was close by when his chief rival, U.S. Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison, said that unlike him, she supports term limits. "It isn't healthy" to have the same person controlling the state's boards and commissions, she said. "Gov. Perry does not believe that we should have term limits. I do." ....
Perry drew noticeably louder applause than his two opponents from the sold-out crowd that county party chairman Jared Woodfill put at more than 600 people.....
In her speech, Medina said that this isn't a three-way race but rather a race between a grassroots activist and "two big-government incumbents."....

Perry is totally destroying KBH with his ads... the only thing is... she has to eventually run for Senator again... and this campaign has weakened her considerably.
I would really hate to have Perry win governor only to have KBH defeated by a democrat the next time her senate seat is up.
Perry ain’t much, but he’s the best hope we have to keep the state out of the hands of Rats.
As far as Kay goes, the best that can happen is that she does resign, loses, Perry wins, and can appoint an actual Republican to the Senate.

Hutchison, Perry spend more than $14 million in advertising
Thursday, February 25, 2010
By WAYNE SLATER / The Dallas Morning NewsAUSTIN Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rick Perry poured more than $14 million into television and radio advertising in the last month as they escalated spending in their GOP primary showdown.
Perry spent $8 million and Hutchison $6.5 million on advertising to boost their campaigns, according to their latest campaign finance filings with the state.
The big money went to purchase TV time, although Perry also reported spending $59,000 on polling, $27,000 to chief political consultant Dave Carney of New Hampshire and $42,000 to TargetPoint Consulting in Washington, which helps campaigns identify likely voters.
Most of Hutchison's money went to the Dallas media firm of Scott Howell and Co. The campaign also spent $457,000 on direct-mail brochures and $20,000 to the Dallas online video production company Try the Veal Productions......
Republican Debra Medina spent $80,000 on television and radio advertising, including $1,400 on Spanish-language spots on Univision. She also spent $66,000 on yard signs.....
Both Perry and Hutchison go into the final days of the campaign with more than $2 million in the bank. Medina reported having $290,000 for the final push.
According to campaign reports, Hutchison raised $1.1 million and Perry collected $852,000 between Jan. 22 and Feb. 20. Medina raised $438,000 during the period. ....

Early Voting ends Friday, Feb. 26........
wELL WE CAN HOPE WHEN SHE GETS HER BUTT KICKED...SHE WILL HAVE A “COME-TO-JESUS “ MOMENT AND GROW A BACKBONE. Maybe then she will realize that RINOs are an endangered species.
Is KBH going to wait to see how she does in the primary before she announces when she’s going to resign her senate seat?
Who wants to bet she loses the primary and decides not to resign after all?
Is KBH going to wait to see how she does in the primary before she announces when shes going to resign her senate seat?
The primary is only 5 days off, Mar. 2, with the runoff scheduled on Apr. 13 if one is needed. Perry may well win this on Tues. I do think she’ll not run again for Senator even if she doesn’t resign.
Dumbest statement ever made by KBH. I am glad she showed her true colors and Perry is landing some huge punches with his ads.
I really don't think she will run for the senate again. Understand that they sold their house in the DC area with the idea of returning to Texas.
Election 2010: Texas Republican Primary for Governor
Rasmussen, Feb. 24, 2010
- Perry 48%
- Hutchison 27%
- Medina 16%
Texas Governor Primary Poll
Public Policy Polling, February 23, 2010
- Perry ..................... 40%
- Hutchison .............. 31%
- Medina .................. 20%
- Undecided............. 9%
Then get a friggen REAL conservative to run against her in the primary.
Understand that they sold their house in the DC area with the idea of returning to Texas.
According to news reports I’ve seen the home was sold back in Oct. 09. Like you I think she’s coming back to Texas, governor or not. They adopted those two children and she makes the commute to DC leaving Mon. evening and returning late Thurs night so the story goes.
“... the best that can happen is that she does resign, loses, Perry wins, and can appoint an actual Republican to the Senate.”
She should have resigned a long time ago and let Perry appoint Williams. All of us would have been much better off.
I would really hate to have Perry win governor only to have KBH defeated by a democrat the next time her senate seat is up.
KBH has brought this on herself. Running against a fairly popular governor who is a member of her party is aviolation of Reagan's 11th commandment. It was ridiculous to run a campaign that amounts to little more than "He's an even bigger RINO than I am".
Also, she has no stage presence. Even the most elementary statement comes off as memorized and rehearsed and phony. Both Perry and Medina come off better in speeches, ads, etc. I guess she thought she was owed a job closer to home in her September years.
She’s not a truther. She fumbled a question. She stated that she is not a truther and there is NO proof in her background of your dishonest claim.
If your dumb enough to throw away a state sovereignty/individual freedom candidate because Beck told you to, then your too dumb to be free. :)
She should have resigned a long time ago and let Perry appoint Williams.
Has Perry indicated whom he’d appoint? I’ve seen Perry/Williams but I don’t remember reading anything of Perry’s intent. I guess the next available Uniform Election Date would be Nov. 2 for the Senator race for the replacement.
