Desiree Rogers, the White House social secretary, is resigning her position just a few months after she was roundly criticized for a security lapse that led to uninvited guests crashing the president's first state dinner.
"It's been a tremendous experience and honor to serve this president and first lady in what is really a historic presidency for all Americans but particularly for African-Americans," she said in a brief telephone interview. "That is part of the reason I came out to do the job."
Ms. Rogers was a newcomer to politics as well as to Washington, and in her first year on the job, she became known for bringing an updated, stylish sensibility to White House events, and for bringing outsiders - schoolchildren, in particular - to what she and First Lady Michelle Obama called "the people's house."
But she also came under fire after uninvited guests made their way into the first Obama state dinner, and the White House upgraded its procedures afterward. At Congressional.....

the unctuous robert gibbs managed to blame george bush, even for this.
Gibbs : “The doors of [the white house] were open to folks that had not necessarily always gotten to be here.”
what a sanctimonious fat a$$. what a whopping piece of sh*t. yes, george bush refused blacks, latinos, and asians entrance to the white house. idiots. these freaking obama people are awfully proud of themselves for sh*t they didn’t even accomplish.
I understand that politics is what it is, but this actually makes me angry.
The doors of [the white house] were open to folks that had not necessarily always gotten to be here.
Scum Progressives, domestic terrorists, thugs etc...
He is so sanctimonious...ok...he’s an ASSHAT.
No thanks. Hope that sista’ can find a new gig, times are tough.
Just like Ron Jones the Green Czar resigned his job at midnight on a Sunday. He didn't go anywhere, he is just under the radar now. So it will be with Desiree Rogers.
What Gibbs meant was that very few trashy people ever got in the WH until the Trash n’ Chief opened the doors to the Chicago mafia and their communist friends.
I hear ya!
Hope she and all of the rest the thugs currently in the WH find their new gig here.
“Ole barry must have been eyeballin the little hussy and chewbacca got wind of it! Bye bye social sexretary! LOL”
Sasquatch smack down!
It does seem rather odd - why resign now? Resignations generally happen closer to the incident. The news cycle moves so fast that most people have forgotten the party crashers. More to this story methinks.
Only in this incompetent administration would I even have heard of the “Social Secretary”, let alone her/him needing to resign.
Who is the drag ballet guy?
Someone had to take the fall for the mess we’re in.
Rahmbo ‘dead fish’ Emmanuel...the Chief of Staff to ZerO!
‘Van’ Jones :)
Thanks! When I wrote it I kind of figured it wasn't quite right. Names excape me anymore.
Stylish? She and Michelle pull their clothes out of the same rag bag...how's that for stylin’!
Surely now Desiree Rogers will be forever depicted as a quitter.
To some she will, but she has an MBA from Harvard so I don’t believe she will have trouble finding another job. She was already established in event coordination prior to going to the White House. I believe that she will be fine. I am sure her ego took a hit though.
Rahm Emanuel
With her resignation, I won two bets with liberals*, that she would be fired or thrown under the 0b0z0 Bus, as the behind the door investigations went on.
She violated Secret Service protocol and probably got paid somehow for enabling the crashers to crash.
*Hopefully like other liberals, they will not pay me and will avoid bugging me in the future to avoid paying me and hearing “I told you, so!”
