So they really are going to surrender and tear down sections of Detroit

So they really are going to surrender and tear down sections of Detroit By Kevin “Coach” Collins Last June this site reported the Obama Administration was in discussions with Mayor Dave Bing of Detroit to tear down large sections of his City. In a clear admission fifty years of Democrat rule had ruined the once great city, surrendering large sections of Detroit to the wrecking ball is actually being planned. Liberal Democrats have spoken the unspeakable: "Forget about trying, lets tear it down." Ripping down sections of Detroit will reap some very clear benefits for Obama and his Party. It will make Democrat Mayor Dave Bing look like he is actually governing and Democrats in surrounding districts will get a big influx of Black rubberstamp voters to help them hold on.

Need “shovel ready jobs” Tear down Detroit

The “teardown for votes” scheme has now taken a big jump forward with this week’s announcement by Mayor Bing that he “"absolutely" intends to relocate residents from desolate neighborhoods and is bracing for inevitable legal challenges when he unveils his downsizing plan.”

“That’s forced relocations!” as the liberal media would say if Bing and Obama were Republicans or even White Democrats.

But of course...

This is typical of a RAT Mayor. He is trying to take credit for typical grass roots activism. The great people of Detroit have tried to tear down their own city every year on Devils Night and have be thwarted by the police. NOW, that its politically expedient, the Mayor wants credit for it? WTH? /s

People should read up on Dave Bing. He’s a democrat but he’s no Barack Obama. He fires union workers who don’t bother to show up for work and refuses to deduct union dues from some city worker’s paychecks.

He’s a self made millionaire who could have turned his back on the city and walked away. Instead he took what must be one of the hardest jobs in the world and started making some tough choices.

I wish the city had control of the schools so he could do what needs to be done there.

Good morning.

...and/or ceding it to Canada.

Do you really think Canada would take it? Well, it's worth a try...

“In a clear admission fifty years of Democrat rule had ruined the once great city,”

....I’d say it was in the 70s when black Democrats legally siezed power that the downhill slide began...same things started happening in urban areas across the country...once great cities have gone bad.

...I have no confidence in black Democrat governance, but if Bing can pull this off, I’ll tip my hat to him.

The way things are going, Detroit will soon look like Medieval France.

Hey it's an improvement. :)

Dave Bing isn’t pretending to govern in Detroit, he’s making hard but good decisions.

Just cause he has a D behind his name doesn’t mean he’s only in it for himself. He loves the City of Detroit. Give him a chance.

Turns out that's what it ALSO meant in many places.

Doesnt' mean that was wrong.

Rents have to go up and people have to be forced to pay for nicer places to live. Otherwise, they end up living in rat warren slums filled with crime, disease and an incredible accident rate.

If the SNCC had had its way all black people would now be living in places that look like Detroit.

They aren't, so there. Screw SNCC and it's merry band of idiots.

As was pointed out to me in post 14, Canada might well consider such action as an act of war.

I wonder if the Brit's would take it back?

Idiotic (more politely, ill-conceived and poorly administered) government policies created urban blight, so the solution must naturally be more ill-conceived and sure-to-be poorly administered government programs. I love it. The solution for bad government policies is more bad government policies.

That’s the best idea I’ve heard yet.

I’ve often said that in 10 to 20 years, the majority of jobs left in Michigan would be hunting and fishing guides.

Sounds like a perfect spot for a new theme park- “Liberal Land”

Imagine the attractions:

A new roller coaster called “the obamaconomy” - it’s a thrill and all downhill

Labor Union Land- where you wait for hours to get in while one hard hat holds a flag, another holds a radio, and two dozen more stand just inside leaning on shovels and talking

Healthcare Land- spin the wheel and see if yo get a life saving operation or a pain pill- only people ages between 14 and 50 can play

There’s a company buying up whole blocks at bargain-basement prices, and planning to convert the land to commercial urban farming use. Urban un-growth.

‘This reminds me of the 1960’s Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC, pronounced “snick”) motto, “Urban renewal means negro removal.”’

If you move them where will you put them? Send them to Mississippi? Denmark? Liberia? Where?
