OBAMA Oil sets $7 a gallon gas price target
MensNewsDaily.com ^ | March 3, 2010 | Roger F. Gay

Posted on 03/03/2010 5:33:00 AM PST by RogerFGay

To meet the Obama administration’s targets for increasing fuel taxes, researchers say that Americans will have to pay $7 for a gallon of gasoline; about 17 percent more than drivers in green-conscious and generally highly taxed Sweden.

In their study, researchers at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs devised several combinations of tax increases to address 70 percent of the oil used in the United States. The combinations were selected to match fuel consumption reduction targets. Most of their models assumed an economy-wide carbon dioxide tax starting at $30 a ton in 2010 and escalating to $60 a ton in 2030. In some cases researchers also factored in tax credits for electric and hybrid vehicles, taxes on fuel or both.

Zer0 and the Libtards really are going for a scorched earth policy. Apparently not caring what it does to them, as long as America is destroyed.

This makes them very dangerous.

I noticed “Tax” not cost to drill, move, distil and sell.

So my monthly gas bill should go from $300 to $700 so I can feel good about the earth? Riiiiiight!

Better get the Focus paid off quick, looks like I’ll need the extra money.

The next phase of the stimulus effort may involve blowing up most US corporations. This will grow the economy by creating a need for construction jobs.

Someone should force Obama to read Bastiat's "Broken Window" essay.

“Apparently not caring what it does to them”

They are doing this because they have dismissed or not even thought of consequences that are going to destroy them. By acting in the manner they have; the backlash against them will be far worse than they ever can imagine.

“If our political representatives were prevented by effective constitutional limits from treating us as children incapable of solving most of our problems through productive market cooperation with each other, there would be much less need for supermajorities. But those constitutional limits have eroded badly at every level of government.

When governments can tell us how much water we can have in our toilets, what light bulbs we can buy, how much garbage we have to save for composting, how much electricity our televisions can use and how much to subsidize corn farmers when we buy gasoline, it is difficult to think of controls that are out of bounds.”

I wonder how fast the Obama bumper stickers are going to start coming off the cars when this kicks in? My neighbor still has one on his car. I will laugh when I see him filling up at $7/gallon if he still has it on. Not to mention looking at his face when he goes to the grocery store and sees the higher prices.

‘OBAMA Oil sets $7 a gallon gas price target’

The raising of fuel prices is an attempt at government attempting to gain control of the food industry.

EVERYONE forgets that when/if gas prices go up so will food prices.

ALL food is delivered via the trucking industries who will pass on increased costs on to the consumer.

When food prices sky rocket, the sheeple will demand immediate action.

Control the distribution of food and one controls the American population without a shot being fired.

Religion trumps education in most cases.
In this case the religion (or obsession) is MotherEarth and any amount of education or common sense will not get through this obsession.

This is a BS article about a bunch of whiney commune dwelling greeny fags. $7 a gallon fuel would bring the global economy to a stand still. No politician is that hellbent on political suicide.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. The only thing more consistently indicative of trouble (other than a baccalaureate from Oxford) is a degree from Yale coupled with a Rhodes Scholarship and an adjunct professorship at the Kennedy School of Government. Such a person almost always ends up causing untold disaster, and on occasion, cleaning issues for the Oval Office rug.

“yup, bail out GM and then destroy their sales by making it impossible for most of America to buy gas. Cant buy gas? Cant go to work.

It’s not just GM but our farming community. We need fuel to do all the steps in planting, growing, harvesting and getting the product to market. Kill that and the rest of America doesn’t eat and much of the world too.

Of course in my heart of hearts I think that they just want most of us to die off so that they can have the planet to themselves.

Bush was vilified for being a stooge of the big oil buddies. But now Obama and his policies will make some Muslim oil Sheiks much richer.

Regardless, $7 gas is going to go over with the American people like a tricked out Saudi private 747 WITHOUT the optional gold toilets installed...
