LUBBOCK Candidate for the Republican nomination for Texas governor Debra Medina, in a Thursday appearance on radio show Pratt on Texas, refused to commit to support the Republican nominee for Texas governor if she is not the Partys nominee. Medina hinted at there being other candidates on the November ballot she might support.
Pratt on Texas host Robert Pratt asked Ms. Medina, the former Wharton County chairwoman, "If you run through this election and are not the nominee of the Republican Party, will you wholeheartedly endorse and support the Partys nominee or is there some threat of some type of outside movement there?"
"I think its premature to be talking about that," replied Medina.
"So in other words, even though we do know that the nominee will be one of three people, Rick Perry, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, or yourself, youre not willing to go on the record saying that if youre not the nominee you would support the Partys ticket?," Pratt asked.
"Absolutely not," Medina said.
"Surely you understand that there may be other candidates besides a Republican and a Democrat on the ballot come next November," she added later.
"Ms. Medina wants Republican voters to trust her with their vote but, she isnt willing to trust the judgment of those same voters if they should nominate someone other than her," Pratt told his audience after the interview.

Is this the one Beck torpedoed? no wonder...
Yup Paulinistas and 9/11 Truthers -—why am I not surprized???
She torpedoed herself, Beck didn’t do it. She repeated the same truther line in at least two other interviews that week so it is hard to blame it on Beck.
Glenn Beck gave this silly woman every chance to recant her “truther” position, and, lo and behold!, she didn’t.
No. She torpedoed herself.
Never thought that the TX GOP would make CA GOP look nuttier yet here is a prime example..
It was a softball question that could have been answered with one syllable- “No”. She gave that same politician type run-around answer you hear from Alex Jones or Jesse Ventura.
We didn’t ask for her.. Heck, before this her only claim to fame was suing the Texas GOP.
I do not think Medina is in a postion to suggest anything now.
So when will this RINO give back the money to the party she tried to hijack?
Not only that, but Beck is hardly an apologist for the Republican establishment.
No, this woman is a troublemaker. It’s becoming more and more apparent.
Good point, he seems to call for a third party in every other thought.
I was going to vote for her just to spook Perry a little bit but I didn’t like her answers to FreeMarket survey.
Losertarians work 234/7 to split the GOP vote and elect democrats.
So what? There are tons of folks here that did not vote for McCain, and never would, myself included.
I heard the Beck interview and she does not handle herself well.
The woman is a loose cannon and does not demonstrate common sense. Very disturbing.
The left and MSM will paint her as the “Tea Party” candidate.
We don’t need this.
I would distance myself from the “GOP”, too. It just may be the exact right time for a third party. That is if most voting Republicans still have a viable thought system.
It just may b the right time to divide the true Conservative patiots from the Politcally Correct Progressives in the Republican Party. A third party would also include Independents, Libertarians and conservative Democrats. I believe those people are growing faster than the”GOOP” is growing. God bless the patriots who will stand up and fight for what is left of our great country.
