We’re so much more aware of this stuff these days. If I hadn’t been on FR I wouldn’t even know about this one till tomorrow if ever.

from reading the taiwan news, it looks like the quake started 5km below surface around 8:18am local time, 7:18 EST. No reports of any damage or casualty yet. It could be felt all over taiwan, the measurement in taipei is 2.

Thanks, bd. We won’t be surprised when it hits here; just a matter of WHEN.

Gaia is angry. We must appease her by throwing Al Gore into a volcano. That is all. That wouldn't work. The volcano would just spit out Gore and be angrier then before Gore was tossed into the volcano.

Yeah, but after the lava cooled, Gore wouldn't be as warm.

Natural Law wrote: "I’m here in Taipei and felt a long but gentle rolling quake. No big deal."

While Taipei is 155 miles from the epicenter I'm not surprised you felt a rolling sensation that far away. This was a shallow quake.

From USGS: Depth 23.1 km (14.4 miles).

Please be sure to log whatever you felt during the quake, and whether or not anything moved or fell in your location.

.Did You Feel It? — Tell Us !

It helps the continuing research done by seismologists. The goal is to better predict earthquakes, damages, injuries as well as construct better buildings which can withstand earthquakes,
