He was fired and replaced at Towson, but he also teaches somewhere else.
I was guessing the “slur” wasn’t
“honkey”, “cracker”, or “slope”...
So what’s his risk? He will get 2+ YEARS of unemployment.
How can the evil corporate plantation owners fire a negro for him using a black approved term of endearment between brothers?
If a white man were to use that term, I could see it but if I were the fired guy, I'd sue the university. S/OFF
...of course he’s gotta be disiplined...Towson is in Baltimore...a city that’s 65% black...black mayor/city council/fire/police/social services/school board/home of the NAACP....the entire power structure is dominated by black Democrats...Towson has to get along in it’s home town...if it means throwing some guy under the bus, then so be it.
He says:
“It is not a mortal sin for a white person to use it. It depends on how they use it and what content....”
He’s wrong. When a White person uses it, he is fired without recourse. This is an extremely rare occurence - a non-White being fired for using the word. His firing is fair.
There is a double standard in application of the law regarding racial slurs. Whenever a White is accused of a slur, he is automatically judged guilty and is punished without recourse. This case is a first. He got what he deserved. Let the firing stand. (it won’t. it will be rescinded, cuz that’s the double standard)
So now I can be fired from my job by referring to MYSELF as a honky?
Move over, Don Sterling!
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Sez “page not found.” Does anybody have the new link?
The web site is no longer connecting to the article under the above title. I did find it under a different title:
